Catch it from my rear bedroom window with a view toward the Empire State Building. (Same window that I viewed the Hale-Bopp Comet through between the branches of my neighbor's tree.) What's really fun is when you stare at the ESB and see the tourist's camera flashes periodically go off.
I hope everyone caught the pretty bright and doubled rainbow that preceded this beautiful sunset. Friends and I viewed it over Bayside, and it was followed by the beautiful red sky sunset. Thanks, nature!!
BTW these beautiful sunsets are one of the harbingers of the arrival of Fall. The sun sinking lower on the ecliptic. Autumn is in the air. Halloween tschotsckes already in the Stop and Shop and it isn't even Labor Day. Gather ye rosebuds while ye may. Tempus fugit.
Another place to get a great sunset view is along Beach Channel Drive in Belle Harbor and Neponsit.
If Crapper will forgive my mentioning someplace out of Queens, check out the sunsets from the West End fishing piers at Jones Beach this time of the year.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt

Catch the sunset from the 40th Street station on the 7 line. The view is really something.
Catch it from the roof of LeFrak city or Skyline towers in Flushing.
Just beautiful! One of the last free things we have in NYC.
