Because she needed the money? I had to do the same thing. Unfortunately, no matter how much she diverted to taxes as she made the withdrawal, she will have a very unpleasant surprise from the IRS in April (as I found out).
And in Barron's case, just because he's a racist doesn't mean he can't make a good investment here and there.
What a joke that these people are chosen as "professors". I will bet you that's all about them being set up in sweet positions in CUNY in exchange for favors. Professor Seabrook ?? Enough said.
the democrat politicians in n.y.s. always get token teaching positions at c.u.n.y. in order to keep their state and city pensions . if they lose an election or are term limited they qualify years later for the pension.
many get two to three city and state pensions. ie.former n.y.s. assemblyman,city and state comptroller and queens college professor alan hevesi.
often times they are very absent from the classes they are supposed to teach.
