The State Dept. Of Health suggests eating only 1/2 pound of catch per month in this area due to PCBs and Cadmium contamination. Children under 15 and pregnant women are suggested to eat none at all. Eels should not be eaten by any one. The tomalley in crabs and lobsters should also not be eaten by anyone as the contaminants concentrate in that area.
Be wary of fish stores in the area selling cheap fish. The catch is most likely caught and sold by poachers fishing in local waters.
What a scoop. To think that none of us ever notices the boats in Jamaica Bay or the guys fishing off the bridge on our way to Rockaway. Tune in next for Lauren's next eye opener, an actual zoo in the Bronx! Really? The Bronx? Really??
That's because most local news reporters are out-of-town transplants who have little life experience in New York City. So to these elites, Braod Channel may as well be as exotic as visiting China.
I know when she said "NY" she meant NYC, (NYS is blessed with great fishing, both upstate and downstate) but I just thought this was the stupidest report I have ever seen on Channel 7...and that is not saying much.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt
The above organizations are recognized by Queens Crap as being beneficial to the city as a whole, by fighting to preserve the history and character of our neighborhoods.
