Seminerio sentenced to 6 years

Ex-assemblyman Anthony Seminerio sentenced to 6 years in prison

A veteran New York assemblyman accused of pocketing $1 million from people who did business with the state has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Anthony Seminerio had pleaded guilty last year to defrauding his Queens constituents of honest services.

In court papers, his lawyers had argued for home detention. But a federal judge in Manhattan said on Thursday he deserved prison time for abusing the public trust.

The 74-year-old Seminerio had served in the assembly since 1978 before resigning last year.

Prosecutors accused him of using his consulting firm to solicit about $1 million from a hospital, college and lobbying firm without doing any work for them.

another n.y.c democrat bites the dust.

it is a heck of a way to end your life.but if you do the crime, you must do the time.

the obama stimulus money is directed to all n.y.c.,n.y.s. and U.S. government projects, specifying union operations only.

many of the wall street corps. were beholden to the obama,dem./lib. party.

And maybe he'll be in the cell next to Joe Bruno, another Republican who has bitten the dust.

as some have said in the past,if the shoe fits.............

if he is convicted? no mercy from me.

but his so-called infraction is now being debated because most politicians have ethics failures.

they will all go bye,bye if it becomes a crime.

Why is this not on the news?

Why is the news giving almost no discussion to politics?

Why is the news giving us life-style garbage - McDonalds fast food garbage for the mind?

It's not just another corrupt pol, it's the idea that you need to involve the government in a million ways to get something built, something started -- an economic and regulatory tollbooth. The intrusion of the government into any and all aspects of life creates infinite opportunities for corruption. Who or what gave Seminerio his opportunity to take bribes in the first place?

It takes two parties to create corruption. Justice will not be served until all the other parties receive their due punishment. And that includes all the hospital leadership who schemed with the Assemblyman while contributing to the collapse of health care in Queens and right over the border in Brooklyn.

I don't think he will make it out of prison. He has been in poor health for years.

The news isn't reporting it, because he is a registered democrat! Wake up people, the news reports are a little one-sided. Pay attention.
