Bronx version of Beavis and Butthead

From the Daily News:

Two numskulls busted for drinking in public decided to get even by torching a cop car.

Trouble was, they set the fire in front of an NYPD stationhouse - and were promptly arrested again, police said.

"Braniacs these boys are not," said one police source.

"This being the Bronx, they'll probably throw some paint on it and put it back on the road," another police source said.

NYC cops are super nasty! A friend has a son that's a cop and she said that they're trained to be that way. I don't think they know who pays their salaries. We are their employers and their clients! They should also head back to school - most of the ones I've met sound like (and are) a bunch of dummies. The new ones - not the boomers.

Blame the Mayor for their behavior. He is the one who has turned them into revenue agents.Ray Kelly ,the super-micro-manager tells them what type of tickets to wtite, and what offenses to arrest for. Crime is down, manpower is down, yet every year more tickets and arrests must be generated. It'snot about the safety of the public or service. It's about numbers to make doucheberg and kelly look good. The cops are under a lot of pressure inthe world of "do more with less". Get used to it!

Only in New York could people complain about the manners of the cops in regards to arrogant morons who openly destroy public property.

Try that in China or an Eastern Bloc nation. The cop's courtesy will be the least of your problems.

Sure dumb things down.

Compare our parks, schools, city services, hospitals, housing, even employment condtions to the 3rd world and they are still superb.

Does anyone see what is wrong with this?

Okay, set a cop car on fire in London or Paris. See if you are invited in for tea or croissants.

All you dopes that said the cops were nasty for enforcing the LAW, please don't call 911 when you are being attacked or robbed. You ungrateful asses.

That's what Bloomberg has brought to the public sector: the corporate mindset. Metrics. Return on investment. The bottom line. Bully for him -- but not for anybody else.

Yeah, well we don't live in those awful places.. do we.

I do have a place in Bangkok, there the police are hopelessly corrupt..and frankly treated with contempt by the public.

I have seen them yelled at and pushed aside when trying to "collect" fines (they are authorized to collect on-the-spot: bribes). If they beat-up somebody, there is a good chance they will get it in return. During Songkran (Thai New Year)they are often splattered with powder and doused with water as is most everybody.

Point is that if police are viewed as being unjust, corrupt or just plain nasty, they won't get the public's full cooperation and everyone suffers.
