Children Seriously Hurt in Bronx Building Collapse

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Three people have been hurt in a partial building collapse in the Bronx.

Officials say a child had to have his leg partially amuputed.

The 12-year old boy was walking by 2274 Grand Concourse Sunday morning, when fire officials say a 20-foot section of a parapet crumbled to the sidewalk.

Chunks of cement rained down on several people in front of a drug store.

A 10-year old boy was in serious condition with head trauma. A woman was also hurt.

The victims are at St. Barnabas Hospital.


According to televised news reports, the woman and 2 children had to be dug out of the rubble.

Even after many tragedies such as this are still happening, most of our New York City Council slugs still aren't moving fast enough to make sure that the corrupt DOB is totally revamped to insure adequate public safety !

This comes as no surprise, however, there's not much incentive for many of our NYC Council members who are "on the take" from developers to change the status quo !

It's time for some serious house cleaning at City Hall !
