Once upon a time, there was a bus shelter with a bench at Jackson Avenue and 11th Street.
When the B32 was brought into service, they had to change the sign. At the same time, they also removed the shelter. It has yet to return. However, someone has improvised seating.
Note the garbage can! I love it.

Welcome to deBlasio's progressive city.
Is the tall garbage pail meant to be used as a port-a-potty?
Queens crap for sure !
I may be mistaken, but I think the shelter was removed under Bloomberg.
One of my favorite posts ever on QC.
That was one of the old shelters that actually provided shelter. If it gets replaced someday, it will be with a CEMUSA "shelter" that intensives heat under the glass roof, and also lets in copious amounts of wind and rain. And has big areas for ads, of course.
