Some of those pictures are in front of loading bays.
That being said, the people that live around these locations are being displaced by development: in that section Jimmy only concerns himself with the new people to keep the buildings full of fools and his developer campaign donors happy.
It's always been that way in LIC - the parking restrictions and commercial aspects of the nabe create an unbearable parking situation. It's compounded by LI commuters parking to then take the subway into Manhattan.
What's the price of a possible ticket (that you may or may not receive?) 25, 35, 45, 65 bucks? Evidently it's worth the gamble and the cost of doing business!
I worked at See Factor sound and lighting doing pre-production for summer tours in LIC back in 1980. This has been going on forever on factory blocks with wide sidewalks yet narrow streets. Nobody complained till all these new Yahoos started moving in. These people need to go back across the Husdon (or jump in)IMHO
Kamikaze reckless scofflaws on bicycles, mopeds and stupid confusing painted crap all over the streets are the real problem. New Yorkers never needed any of this shit this Bloomberg posse and this NYC traffic commissioner from crap California has brought!! Talk abut importing crap ! Driving in LIC has becoming like friggan Venice beach California or Amsterdam. -- Take your pick, total crap !
Wait: parking on sidewalks isn't legal? Someone please tell the police! ---------------------------------- YEAH! And tell each cop that they have to write AT LEAST 10 summonses a day for parking on the sidewalks! Oh...um wait....quota. Right.
Over development causes many problems. More will come to light as N.Y.C.'s population keeps increasing. Here in North Flushing some home owners are installing paving blocks on their front lawns to park cars. Take a walk around and open your eyes and see the changes coming to your nabe bit by bit. The picture is not pretty. :-(

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt
The above organizations are recognized by Queens Crap as being beneficial to the city as a whole, by fighting to preserve the history and character of our neighborhoods. That's what happens when you overdevelop..............
Check out the armory on Northern B'vd. in Flushing. The cops park on the sidewalk all the time.
Before the (adjacent) Korean church moved out from the old Masonic temple...they used the sidewalk as a parking lot too!
Nobody gives a crap. That's why NYC is becoming a shit hole...except for the tourist corridor in Manhattan, which is maintained in pristine shape.

LIC is an overcrowded hipster magnet.
This is where the Vallone clan built their kingdom...
along the shores of..."Vallonia".
It's better to have hipsters filling up LIC, than to have the low class Fujianese and Taiwanese who dominate Floo-shing.
You won't find fish heads or piss pools in LIC.
At least, you can be thankful for that.

And in one of those pictures, parking on subway gratings. That's really safe.
They do that in the countries where they come from, like Greece.

North Flushingite...
THATS ILLEGAL. REPORT THEM!
WARNING!
If Paul Vallone winds up representing north Flushing...
you can expect the same shit that his brother Peter has brought to LIC and Astoria!
VOTE WISELY!
The only solution to feudal casuists is heeding the policies of Henry George!
Hey, streets become pedestrian plazas, so sidewalks must become parking spaces - it's works out!
"Feudal casuists" and "Henry George"?
I think that your way over the heads of the average
Queens dumb-koffs !
You've hit it right on the mark!
This is the Vallone dynasty's legacy!
La Famiglia di Vallone
doesn't live anywhere near this kind of shit!
Their residential nabes are leafy green!
