A little defensive, are we?

His approval rating has plummeted, so he demoted the EMS Chief and 2 Sanitation bosses. He also is rolling out new measures for snow removal. Fun in the above video starts at 9:45.

Michael Rubens Bloomberg [sotto voce]: "I'm a guy with a lot of money. Why, I'm even a billionaire. More money than these peasants sitting here".

Michael Rubens Bloomberg [aloud]: "When people dig out their ploughs [sic]". [sotto voce]: "I've got money. Why do I have to be here"?

Check out Press Secretary Stu Loeser at the (the bald jacketless fat guy) at the end of the bottom video seeing who is now on the s-list.

What did the EMS Chief do that was so wrong?!
Send out ambulances that got stuck?! Does he have a choice?
I don't understand how he gets the shaft on this.

Can somebody tell me the approval rating of Sanitation UNION employees? My vote for them is ZERO. Last time I checked, they were the ones who are supposed to plow the streets, not the Mayor. As I said, I vote ZERO for them. Seems to me they are the ones who have screwed New York.

At the last anon who posted... how hard would you be working knowing that no matter what you do during this blizzard you may potentially lose your job for no reason.

Scratch that Bloomberg claims to have reasons so ill say no legitimate reason. The responsibility falls on the one in charge to make sure that everything is working smoothly and in that BLoomberg did a monumentally horrible job. What I dont understand is two things: HOW IN THE HELL DO 37% of NYC PEOPLE STILL APPROVE OF THIS MAN? I was expecting numbers in the teens but still a moronic 37% of people still thinks he is a great mayor... that is beyond me. Second question how can his handling of this whole snow storm be considered anything less than a failure of epic proportions. and yet when asked how many people felt he did a poor job in handling this snow storm only 71% felt that way. WHAT???????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WHAT KIND OF HOLD DOES HE HAVE ON THIS CITY THAT PEOPLE STILL LIKE HIM AFTER EVERYTHING HES DONE TO RUIN HIS REPUTATION THIS TERM AND IN MY OPINION HIS WHOLE OFFICE TERMS IN GENERAL? WHAT CAN HE DO TO FINALLY WAKE UP PEOPLE AS TO THE REALITY OF THIS MAN? IM JUST STUNNED AT THE NUMBERS AND AT HOW BLIND SOME PEOPLE CAN BE...

They're enamored with his megabucks.

They're psychologically deluded into thinking that he will hand them some of his largesse. That he will invite them to jet down to Bermuda with him.

The families of people who died because of Bloomturd's criminal negligence should sue him personally. What a despicable little toad. And isn't his business all about INFORMATION? So why is he so inept at gathering information in this instance? The bottom line is he and his deputy mayors were AWOL, failed to declare a snow emergency that would have made everything run smoother, and are now blaming it on DSNY and EMS. Disgusting.

Mayor Bloomberg failed to declare a snow emergency. Mayor Bloomberg lied when he said sanitation had as much staff & equipment as in years past.

This is NOT true..... cost saving inferior equipment is being used, 100 guys were dragged out of CLASS after 2 weeks & thrown on spreaders, never having driven trucks on city streets in their lives.

Sanitation police & admin aides were pulled from their jobs & also thrown on plows, having ZERO experience. THAT'S why he says the head count is the same, he fails to tell you that 1/4 of those people out there were not equipped to do the job.

Now, as far as the "supposed slowdown"..... I don't believe it because if they wanted to send the mayor a message, they would have slowed down in manhattan. But for arguments sake, lets say some supervisors did not do their best....

Consider this... Mayor Bloombergs answer to the union presidents statement that THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH PERSONNEL TO COVER A STORM.... was to DEMOTE 100 supervisors, take away their job title, pay and seniority & put them back as sanitation workers to cover the deficit. How about if your employer decided there wasn't enough housekeepers & demoted you when you did nothing to deserve it, took YOUR paycheck, and solved the housekeeping problem that way? How loyal would YOU be to your employer? You people are getting a snow job from this mayor, Essential services were cut & he is covering his as!!!!!

Looks like Doherty wears a hairpiece, what says you?

Doherty is a drunk who doesn't even have a NYS drivers license. They pulled his for to many DWI's.

Doherty's son is also a DOS employee. He has the worst attendance record in the history of the department.

the commenters supporting the evil that some of the d.o.s. employees driving plows did, must be in lala land.

employees in the private sector have a 9.7 % to 17 % rate of unemployment. workers have had their careers destroyed. no health benefits for life.no income. many have had their unemployment benefits expire.

small companies have had to downsize, lay off workers and cut their expenses. they are hesitant to hire full time because of governments intrusion into their day to day existence. too much regulation. and too much taxing.

the public city/state/federal union members are being paid by the revenues of the private sector's labor.
if there is no private income, there is no tax revenue for the government worker.
and you have the nerve to expect to get paid for raising your plow shovels in a snow storm emergency ?
you are evil,evil,evil.

Can somebody tell me the approval rating of Bloomberg's friend, City Council? My vote for them is ZERO.

Now they are holding hearings. After helping Bloomberg overturn the public's wish with term limits I am about to believe them on these hearings.

Have a pretty good track record.
