Former Council President indicted

From the NY Times:

Andrew J. Stein, a former City Council president, assemblyman and Manhattan borough president who left politics in 1994, has been arrested along with a Manhattan financial adviser who has celebrity clients. Court documents said the financial adviser, Kenneth I. Starr, was charged with a multimillion-dollar fraud scheme.

Mr. Stein was charged with making false statements to the Internal Revenue Service. Court documents say he used about $1.6 million from a company created through Mr. Starr to cover “extravagant personal expenses,” including hundreds of thousands of dollars in credit card bills.

When I saw the headline stating that an ex-borough president had been indicted, I was really hoping it was Claire.

Oh well...

BRING IN THE FEDS.

George, you misheard the word. It was presidential "wood" in the manner of a certain president named Clinton.

Andy Stein at a Memorial Day or Veterans Day event: In middle of the last paragraph of a speech he must have given a million times before, his assistant opened the door to his limo, and he literally ran from the podium and drove off. Everyone there wondered why he even bothered to show up.

Kenneth Starr? The same guy?

In, I believe, 1984 there were 2 holdout voters in the old Board of Estimate chambers (which at that time was controlled by Donald Manes)...where the original RKO Keith's WHOLE INTERIOR DESIGNATION by the LPC could have been ratified and passed...enabling it to become a NYC landmark IN IT'S ENTIRETY:

Harrison Golden & Andrew Stein.

I understand that had that hearing run until midnight...the Keith's would have automatically been FULLY LANDMARKED by default...not just the abridged designation (being the ticket lobby & grand foyer) that exists today.

Does anyone know WHICH ONE of these 2 men caved in resulting in the loss of the Keith's auditorium, etc. from the designation?

If it was Stein's vote, then I'm sure that many of you out there are glad he's finally getting his just deserts or poetic justice!

"brokering agreements between public pensions and investment funds" . according to the n.y.times.

they omitted the person who was elected by the people to safeguard their n.y.c.employee pension funds. why?

the party loyalists are in deep cover up.
