6% probability that NY City/Long Island will be hit with a major hurricane (category 3 or more) in 2007. Normal value is 4%.

Gee, its fun entering in addresses that our politicians, civics, and community boards think is great places to develop.

So who is going to pay for the evacuations? So who is going to carry the burdens of higher insurance premiums when the payouts are factored in?

Of course, its you and me.

Any guess that any newspaper will report this?

Lets see that

somewhere in the middle of touting developers projects, or

politicians mind-numbing press releases, or

the latest tiresome example of tweeding,

if the press covers something useful like these topics for a change.
