True! As is "sea level rise." Just one recent study:
Over 700 low-lying islands in the Pacific and Indian Oceans have coasts that have been stable to expanding in size since the 1980s. The relative sea level rise has only been +0.46 mm/year in these regions with “almost trivial acceleration of +0.0091 mm/year²”.
The claim that sea levels are rising so fast that low-lying islands have been uniformly sinking into the sea worldwide is wholesale myth.
BTW dummy, a lot of "sea level rise" is actually the land sinking, for lots of reasons. That's why marshy New Jersey can show more sea level rise than bedrock built Manhattan. The water around Manhattan has been rising at the exact same pace since the 1850s, which is to say less than a foot every 100 years. In other words, it's a perfectly natural response from coming out of the Little Ice Age, and "global warming" has done exactly nothing.
It's hilarious how the most ignorant rubes always think they know what's going on.
Of course is fake news, by political hacks to collect "climate tax". Plus do away with your sorry ass via cool "vaccines". In essence you are the virus.
@"BTW dummy, a lot of "sea level rise" is actually the land sinking, for lots of reasons"
Sorry doofus, but you are not qualified to call anyone dummy. People like you with negative IQ's should stick to flipping burgers instead of spreading lies paid for by the fossil fuel industry.

Once again, you offer nothing of substance, no rebuttal, just name calling and cliched nonsense about the fossil fuel industry. Oh, and there's no such thing as "negative IQ," but your own IQ is too low to understand that.
Oh, and isn't IQ a fake and racist concept? Keep your stupid Liberal ideas in order, Spanky!
Good - let it float away into the Atlantic. But where would meth heads and crack dealers live and work if not in the many subsidized housing of Rockaway. That dumpy building looks like a Jiggets, FEPS or Link Advantage voucher paying the rent.
This is an example of why reporting by the local affiliates sucks. Framing this as a "cops save the day" story instead of what it is, a huge government fuck up. Either fix the drainage issue or eminent domain the flood prone streets and relocate the residents. What if there was an emergency and the residents had to get out of their homes fast and waiting for a "high water rescue" would take too long.
Also, why would the NYPD contact the DOT about a clogged catch basin? The DEP handles catch basins.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap

That's why you shouldn't build houses on a barrier beach.

@Anonymous/NPC_doofus
I'm surprised you get a break from flipping burgers to comment online. By the way, I like mine medium rare.
