This has been going on for years and years. A combination of lack of enforcement, precincts being paid off to look the other way, bad local elected officials who do not care and a very corrupt city government. BUT where are the so called "woke" hipsters, liberals and all those black church leaders on this issue, because this is blatant environmental racism, plain and simple and hiding in plain site.

Wasn't this issue brought up many times by that blog Clean Up Jamaica and if I am not mistaken it was also on WPIX with Monica Morales. When a neighborhood is allowed to fall into crap due to city neglect and no enforcement of laws, the people in the neighborhood stop caring and it falls further in crap (perfect storm for gentrification). Where is the so-called liberal progressive hero, DickHeadBlasio. So what is the difference between DeBlasio and Trump. Nothing really, just one is a Dem and one is a Republican and neither care about regular people, both lie, both are accountable, both are corrupt as hell and totally incompetent of running any type of government.

What kind of tickets did residents receive???

I have a similar parking situation ... but no tickets or response from NYPD.

Ok, good luck. Flushing avenue in Maspeth has been like this for decades. Apparently the owner of the towing company knows someone in power. Multiple calls about derelict vehicles have fallen on deaf ears.

I actually had a response to a 311 complaint that said that the box truck could not be found. It has been in the same place for two months.

MANY of these places are actually owned by cops.

I had a abandon car parked across the street from my house for almost a year. I complained to both the Police Dept and Sanitation. Both started playing games. I guess they thought I was going to stop complaining. Nope finally got them to tow it and what gets me one day Precinct put on tow sticker, next day Sanitation crossed it out and put their own tow sticker. Go figure.

Ditto the body shops around the Cross Island in Whitestone
