Child slavery in Flushing

From PIX11:

The neat brick facade along the tree-lined Queens street gave no indication of the horrific crimes taking place inside, according to the district attorney.

Sook Yeong Park, 42, is accused of holding two South Korean children as slaves for six years, starting when they were just 9 and 11. Park, who faces charges of labor trafficking, among others, forced both children to work grueling hours at the house and at nearby businesses, forcing one child to sleep on the floor with no mattress and the other in a closet, according to the Queens District Attorney.

“According to the charges, the defendant cut off all contact between the two young victims and their parents in Korea," said D.A. Richard A. Brown. Park enslaved the children after one of her relatives brought the brother and sister to the country in January 2010, according to the criminal complaint. She then confiscated their passports and moved into a well-kept home on 196th Street, where she would hold them for years, Brown said.

The children were forced to meticulously clean the house, with the girl working after school from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., during which time she was also expected to give Park lengthy massages, manicures and pedicures, according to the complaint. On at least one occasion, Park allegedly made the girl give her a body massage for five hours while she watched television.

Sometimes she would pull the children out of school for days or even a month while forcing them to work on her home at 43-52 196th Street, according to the district attorney. Along with the work at home, Park made the girl and her brother work at a Queens grocery store for $10 an hour and pocketed all of her earnings, according to the complaint.

Sickening, and not entirely surprising.

lol everything is obama's fault?

Hope they are going after the grocery store owner as well. What happened to child labor laws?

Another black mark for Flushing.
And what did that dumb neighbor know about what was going on inside?
She paid those "angels" $10 each for shoveling snow, and she's in the know about what went on behind closed doors?

Cheap too. About $60 is the going rate for snow removal.

I guess the only "good" news is that they weren't used as sex slaves. Maybe it was just a matter of time until one of them was sent to a "gentleman's club" near Depot Road.

Everything is Obama's fault because he is the perfect "boogeyman" for maladjusted malcontents.
If we had a "White" president, I'll bet they wouldn't' be blaming him.
Learn to capitalize proper nouns. You must be the same doofus who spells America, "america".
Crawl back into the woodwork, you cockroach.

So the Koreans are as bad as the Chinese?
Is that's what's going on here?
Did Mr. Park force his slave to give him a " happy ending"?

Obama had nothing to do with this. Cases like these have been going on for decades. There has been a sharp rise since the early 2000's of human trafficking to this country. The problem is this notion of 'Sanctuary' that liberal mayor's across the country have been pushing. DiBlasio doesn't want the the feds (Homeland Security & ICE) to take over and do what it is they were sworn to do and as a result, shit like this will continue to happen.

"lol everything is obama's fault"?

Yup-just like everything between 2001-09 was Bush's fault.
And a lot before and after that time too apparently.

I didn't realize Obama was at fault here

You see that's the problem here.
In addition you probably also get to vote.
So how is this immigration thingy going ?
Who is letting these people in?
They are not fleeing dictators, regimes, persecutions.
They come here and spend millions on real estate.
Run illegal businesses, local laws seemingly don't apply to them and they regularly ignore pretty much everything.
How? Why?
Major donor for the Clintons caught with $4 million cash while existing his private plane at airport.
So come again. Who is at fault?

Why are you all hating on other cultures?

This is the way it is back in the old county.

We want "DIVERSITY", do we not?

Get used to it!

This is what it is all about...

I have no idea who the " Vibrant, baby, Vibrant..." poster is, but I LOVE you! Cracks me up everytime you come out of the woodwork. #vibrantanddiverse

We got diversity all right. That's a code word for...what?

Old country laws don't apply in the new country, but I have never ever seen such a contempt for the new country's laws in my life.

While we are on diversity, how much taxes are these diverse people pay in the new country?
Everywhere I look is cash biz only.
Or running the biz right out of residential neighborhoods, right from where they live. Not much in taxes there either.
So how is that possible?

check it out: The Mayor of Cologne said that women should adopt a “code of conduct” to prevent future assault at a crisis meeting following the sexual attack of women by 1000 men on New Year’s eve. this is how to deal with other cultures and embrace that diversity thing

You're slower than molasses in winter if you're naive enough to think this type of exploitation doesn't happen in every community.

here is a NY Times story about our brave soldiers are told to look the other way when Afghan soldiers rape little boys
how soon till we are told to respect their traditions and customs brought here in the name of diversity and inclusiveness?

We are constantly being told what wonderful things the immigrants bring to our society. If this is one of those things I'll pass.

The German police actually was caught deleting video footage of the atrocities these criminals committed.

So much for diversity.
Soon coming to your neighborhoods.

Anonymous #3. Why do you post on these sorts of sites? Is Alan Colmes back on Fox News or something?

There is more nightclub and massage parlor illegal activity going down on that quiet little 164th Street near the Broadway LIRR station.
How come nothing is done about it? Hmmmmm.....this is the 109th precint's turf. That might explain it.
The 109th is notorious for looking the other way when it comes to sex establishments.
Put a few undercover cops in the adjacent laundromat and take a good look at what goes down on the street.
Wait a minute...I was doing my own laundry...and thought I recognized an out of uniform cop going into one of those massage joints.
Was he there for a "happy ending" ....undercover....or extorting payoffs?
Your 109th is not a viable solution. They have been part of the long existing problem in the past and present.
Two of their "finest" we're just arrested for taking money.

I'm shocked...shocked.... to find out that Asian slavery going on right in my own backyard.
Yeah....right! I was once told by a prominent Chinese community leader that, unfortunately, these kind of things are "...the Asian way...".
I replied, "But this is America and our laws are being broken".
He shrugged. What kind of life goes on in the Orient if this is the attitude?

There was an FBI bust in prestigious Broadway Flushing a few years ago.
A little quiet house in the 160s turned out to be the brain center for an Asian human trafficking ring.
Then there was the "Rennaisance Club", on the west side of 154th Street just off the north side of Northern Blvd.
that was involved in human sex trafficking.
Whereas, this is nothing particularly exclusive to Asian law breaking....Lucky Lucciano was his era's whore master...the current trend is that it is primarily Asian!

Organized crime comes from many places. We no longer speak about the Italian Mafia because they are no longer a serious threat (although they exist to some small degree). The feds need to do the same thing they did in the 80's & 90's to deal with the new mafia from the orient.

The Chinese mafia is responsible for a lot of the illegal poaching in the world.
Tiger penis is the biggest seller. it's supposed to fight infertility (go figure!!)

one wonders if the "SLAVE OWNERS" overstayed their visas?how many on the N.Shore of Queens have overstayed .The U.S.State Dept. has no clue, as per Cong.hearings recently?

As long Asians are the current big contributers to local politicians, no one wants to offend these Asians by enforcing the law.
We simply look the other way and let them indulge in their old homeland practices.
Working the hell out of children (slavery) is SOP in China , Korea, etc. In China , mothers used to drown female babies in wells.
Under the two child per family doctrine, only male children were desired.
Flooshing? Forget it Jake. It's Chinatown. What do you expect, civilized behavior?

Immigration reform! Now!
We are being bled dry by by hucksters and thieves.

It's a time race. Democrats are in a frenzy to import votes.
Republicans want a curb on imported votes.
Who will win the game in twenty five years? My money is on the Dems.
Anchor babies guarantee it. Nobody is getting a vasectomy or having their tubes tied.
Be prolific and multiply!

LOL!
I guess all those "xenophobes" were right about America under threat.
Deport those slavers.

Anonymous said...

Vote for Trump.
He has a big mouth but seems to be right on the immigrant huckster problem.
It's time for the overly liberal pendulum to swing the other way to bolster some long established weak points.
Once done, it can swing back a little once again.
