Pomonok graffiti threatens to kill NYPD

From DNA Info:

Graffiti threatening to kill police was found in Queens Monday, sources said .

It comes amid a rash of violence against members of the NYPD.

Two officers were shot responding to a robbery Monday night and, on Dec. 20, Detectives Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were killed while sitting in their patrol car in Brooklyn.

The department has also fielded dozens of threats against police in recent weeks and made several arrests.

The graffiti that reads “PSA-9 'n' 107 Pct R Next to Die" was spotted in the basement of a building at the Pomonok Houses on Parsons Boulevard, near 65th Avenue, sources said.

Police Service Area 9 serves the Pomonok Houses. The housing project is also part of a larger area covered by the 107th Precinct, which includes Fresh Meadows, Cunningham Heights, Hilltop Village and Kew Gardens Hills as well.

It was not immediately clear if the NYPD is investigating the graffiti as a threat. The NYPD's Citywide Vandals Task Force is handling the case, sources said.

We had deadly RIOTS after the Rodney King beating. Here in NYC police were being shot at after the Abner Louima police torture case. The cop got life for that one. I don't know where you live, but here in NYC and other big cities, every so-often a series of cases ignite public anger about something. In these recent cases it was killings by police.

This will burn itself out. We are fortunate that this is winter.

FWIW: I agreed with the decision in Ferguson but disagreed with the one in Staten Island. That surely should have gone before a jury.

Just stop policing the ghetto. Let them kill each other and then move in and arrest the survivors. Done deal.

How much in rent do Pomonok residents pay?

How many more weeks (days) before Cuomo will call in the Guard?

The second Anonymous probably lives nowhere near Pomonok but I live across the street. That's why I would like to see more cameras and enforcement at this NYCHA site.

It is embarrasing that a shooting took place in a project that is literally across the street from the 107th Precinct and the gunman is still on the loose.

That being said, I still regard Pomonok as one of the safest and cleanest NYCHA sites in the city.

I'd be OK with putting up retaining walls and checpoint gates. Let them rot from the inside.

However much they can spare after making the lease payments on the car that sits in their parking lot.

There were riots in Harlem...I believe during the 1960s...where a friend of mine in the national guard was called in.

Way to set the bar high, Sergey.

Prom ok safe? Not since the Pomonok golf links were there. All projects are dangerous. Look who lives there.

Pomonok was a nice place to live in the 50's and 60's, afterwards not so much.

Anon No. 10 -

Gee, I don't know. Who lives there?

Maybe NYPD Housing Cops should be completely removed from the NYC Housing "Projects." I'd like a cop car on my block protecting my family 365/24/7.

If these residents don't appreciate the NYPD, let them fend for themselves.

And the taxpayers are subsidizing all of this crap!

Broken windows policing aka pro active policing in nyc is over. This is what the mayor wants and he got it. More mutts are carrying their guns and will use them, hopefully on each other and no innocent people or cops get hurt.

broken windows and stop and frisk is a partial factor to why we have the chaos we have now,it's called blowback.these gimmicks have led to false arrests of innocent people that cost a lot of time and a ton of settlement money and a man's life that has turned the city upside down that could have been spent going after real thugs, who were probably laughing everyday they were out theiving and intimidating their neighbors.

and as for this written declaration by this gang of lowlifes, this should be considered a homegrown terrorist act.since our nypd is now considered some sort of military division, how about they send some of these swat and special forces dressed cops with their automatic weapons to this project instead of just posing in front of a big promotion and a line for a smartphone, acting as chaperones for new years eve or standing in front of an embassy.

but bratton thinks that these teams are of better use for non-exist threats to our city when an attack happens somewhere else overseas and miles away than a real one written on the wall in the hood.

That don't really mean squat. It's open season on threats against the cops. The major percentage are just empty words. BUT as standard practice each one must be taken seriously. And that costs all of us money. Pomonok is a cesspool. I wouldn't send my kid to Queens College if he got in free. Too close to ghetto land.

Hopefully, all the info thr GJ received and the grand jury minutes will be made public. Facts will be presented and certain people will still dismiss them as lies. As far as the thinly veiled threat alluded above. Their ar thousands of retired cops living in nyc. We train and we are armed and we won't let punks fuck with our active brothers and sisters in blue, nor the citizens of nyc. Look over your shoulder, skippy.
