Padavan with wide lead over Avella in poll

From the Times Ledger:

The race between state Sen. Frank Padavan (R-Bellerose) and former City Councilman Tony Avella is not as tight as some may expect, according to a Siena College poll that showed Padavan with a 24-point lead over Avella.

The poll of 409 likely voters in Senate District 11 found 56 percent of voters choosing Padavan compared to 32 percent for Avella with 12 percent undecided.

In a district where Democrats outnumber Republicans by about 3-to-1, the poll found the race a dead heat among Democrats — 46 percent for Avella compared to 44 percent for Padavan.

“Sen. Padavan can take nothing for granted in this district that has an overwhelming Democratic enrollment advantage — however, he appears to be in a very strong position with voters,” said Siena pollster Steven Greenberg. “He is more well-known and viewed far more favorably than is Avella and voters think he is better on every issue.”

Avella, a Democrat, took 16 percent of Republicans in the poll while Padavan had support of 75 percent of Republicans polled.

Padavan had a wide lead among independents: 65 percent to 17 percent with 19 percent undecided.

Those polled were asked who they thought was the better candidate on 10 issues ranging from the state budget to crime to taxes — and Padavan came out on top in each category.

Where was this poll taken, in Royal Ranch?

Uncle Frank takes care of the neighborhood. The neighborhood takes care of Uncle Frank.

1. Tony Avella's maverick persona is a kind way to describe him, I'd call him an insolvent legislator.

2. Tony Avella is abrasive and disconnected from the neighborhood. It's Tony's way or the highway. He threw our local parishes to the dogs by cutting their funding.

Remember,

Nobody cares like Frank.

An entire generation of voters has been helped by Frank Padavan.

in other news,
Word on the street says he favors Eddy Braunstein over Crazy Carl Paladino henchman, Vincent Tabone.

Frank Padavan has allocated $300,000 (so I've heard from the bocce players) to build yet another bocce court in Bowne Park. I think the true cost of the work is under $50,000. The rest is padding for payoffs.

The senors won't even let children play there. How about a bocce league for kids. How about a dog park? Nope!

Talk about priorities out of whack. But senors vote.

Typo - I meant that seniors vote.

Avella should have run for Assembly, not the Senate.

"Word on the street says he favors Eddy Braunstein over Crazy Carl Paladino henchman, Vincent Tabone."

Didn't Tabone support Lazio? I think you're mistaking Tabone for John "felony indictment" Haggerty, who works for Crazy Carl. (And I think he's actually getting paid by Crazy Carl, not just "volunteering" this time.)

All I can say is "...meow..."

They should pad a van

wait for it

wait for it

wait for it

and put Tony in it!

Padavan and Tabone will win.

Braunstein will be exposed as a tool and Avella has no campaign.

Avella may sink braunstein

he is bringing in every ultra leftist into the district because he cant volunteers from his old district

sorry tony the western queens ultra liberals and the pink wearing communist young dems from astoria are not the hard working families from whitestone and bayside and college point

padavan is gonna clobber and we will see if avella drags braunstein down

Ahh to hell with dog parks already, Frank cares? yeah, great at writing letters about the letters he gets from his constituants and then sending a letter with a copy of the letter he sent about the letter you sent him, while awaiting a response. He might then send you a letter with a copy of the response letter to the letter he wrote about the letter you wrote, and when all is said and done? Nothing gets done, just a bunch of letters. If your lucky, you may see a letter in the paper apologizing to Frank about not responding to the letter.

Confused.

Frank Padavan is a career politician who needs to retire already. All he has done in 38 years is pad his pocket and ignore the real issues that face his senate district. "Nobody Cares Like Frank" really means nobody cares less about you then Frank Padavan.

Don't fret for Avella.

"Phony" Tony will go to work for the "Parkside Group" (whom he's using to run his campaign) after he loses.

The fee he paid them is their required bribe to obtain his future position with them.

What unmitigated gall..Tony claiming to be running as as a "reform" candidate all the time while he's being escorted through the process by the Queens machine!

LOL!

Avella has no track record of any real success...unless you want to count the number of times he's taken the subway or railroad.

His bid for the state Senate will wind up becoming a train wreck.
