Traffic agent lied about being assaulted

From the Bronx Times Reporter:

An employee of a Westchester Square pharmacy, who was arrested after arguing with a traffic agent over a parking ticket, has won support from area merchants who claim the traffic agent lied about George Collazo physically assaulting her while issuing a summons.

Collazo, 23, was charged with menacing and assault after he allegedly grabbed an electronic parking ticket device out of the traffic agent’s hands. The agent was writing Collazo an expired muni-meter parking summons at 1:15pm on Thursday, December 3.

Video from surveillance cameras outside Metro Optics in Westchester Square, across from where the alleged crime occurred, show Collazo and the agent in a heated exchange, but at no time is any physical force used. A Metro Optics employee also witnessed the exchange.

“I was sitting near the door because I manage Metro Optics,” Aurora Susi said. “I watched the whole thing. He really didn’t touch her.”

The Commissar will fire her because she was unsuccessful in collecting the money.

I hope that the brave witnesses are not harassed too.

It is getting out of control w these traffic agents. first a doctor is arrested in Sunnyside because he was double parked while beginning to park, then an agent apparently lies about an assualt.

I think residents wouldn't be ready to riot if it was really about traffic safety and flow. When agents are issuing tickets to cars parked in front of a closed post office on Thanksgiving morning while the driver is loading his car for a trip home, it is clear enforcement has gotten out of hand.

Here's a question: With both meters and alternate sides not in effect on Thanksgiving, why would there be ticket agents out there at all, making double time for the holiday?

Like I said before.. if legal forces cannot stop them, then need to do it with illegal means like how they are doing..

Maybe should form have a gang that will beat up any ticket agents they see...or kidnap them so they won't write tickets anymore because no ticketing agent will want to be an agent anymore.. they are low life who are copwannabes anyways.

Of course, I know this method won't happened.. just wishful thinking.... I just wish it ticked off some big time gangster that they will go on a rampage like that.

You can't be arrested for that. What was the actual charge?

Doctor arrested after traffic agents lied

Thanks for the info Crappy. So the charge was Obstructing Govermental Administration. I am not saying the charge has any merit, I am just pointing out that the doctor wasn't arrested for double parking, as an earlier poster claimed.

Are traffic agents drug tested randomly? What kind of background checks are done?

Does anyone know the outcome of the doctor's case? The article said the court date was Dec 7 and I can't find any news of it.
