Endangered plovers nests has led to beach apartheid

The Edgemere Community Civic Association (ECCA) gathered with elected officials on the Rockaway Beach Boardwalk at Beach 38th Street on July 6 to voice their frustrations over the neighborhood’s lack of beach access for the last 26 years.

Since 1996, the one-mile stretch of beach between Beach 38th and 59th Street has been a designated nesting area for endangered shorebirds, including piping plovers, terns and oystercatchers. Because of the nesting area, which is designated and managed by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation under guidelines from the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Edgemere residents are unable to access the beach and have to head west of the peninsula in order to do so.

“This is a harsh and cruel injustice to those who live and work in this community,” said ECCA President Sonia Moise, who has lived in the Rockaways for 45 years. “It has been too many years that we have been the forgotten community. Edgemere always gets dumped on. No one thinks about the Edgemere community and what our needs are.”

Can they blame Robert Moses too ?

They're getting what they voted for. Stop complaining and start looking harder at your candidates.

Did anyone not expect this ?

Liberal cities have devolved into dystopias. The residents, for some reason, keep voting the same way time and time again. No sympathy.

All Birds Matter

“Why can’t the birds share the beach…”

Is she for real? Why can’t she share her home with the birds?

Because humans are horrible destructive mammals.

CITY CHICKS If I’m not doing taxidermy, Sunday is my go-to beach day. I volunteer with a group called NYC Plover Project on Fort Tilden and Breezy Point Tip beaches. We help protect the piping plover chicks because their first few weeks of life are so delicate. The best part is showing people the chicks through my binoculars, because a lot of people can’t see them. They’re the size of a cotton ball when they hatch. The average New Yorker probably has no idea that these endangered birds are nesting in the city.

Re-Elect TrumpTurd. He'll clear out the birds and turn it into a golf links for the wealthy. After he gets the local council to build a sea barrier due to the rising ocean. Of course, he'll deny that the ocean is rising when mouthing off to his brain-dead political base.

I can almost feel the tyranny from here. Poor little snowflakes.

'terns and oystercatchers'
------------------------------------

Pests, smash shells and shit all over your house, driveway and car.
----and close the beach, you gotta go all the way down by the surfer hipster shitheads polluting the air smoking dope, nasty tattoo legs & arms woman, and for cherry on the cake your ebonic inner city youth with the knives and guns.
Yea, as in pick your poison.

Oh these birds will steal your french frys, divebomb, aim and shit on you if you get to close even in the OK zone.
What actual reason do these birds have thats so important other then endangered? Can we get a property tax break for this closing all summer shit?

Another tax cut for the rich should fix that.

Just Like ‘Climate czar’ John Kerry they are living a big fat climate hypocrisy lie !

Well, Kerry might know more about the intentional geoengineering of the earth with policies and activities since WWII, and increasing today -- which are the number one cause of climate destruction. Without putting such geoengineering practices in consideration in the search for solutions, the current proposed climate policies are all "smoke and mirrors," and well he knows it.

Former Secretary of Defense, William Cohen, in the 1990s, acknowledged the destructive capacity of weather engineering weapons' uses, and potentials, when Cohen urged a restrictive, international, geoengineering treaty to regulate such globally destructive activities way back then.

Go to geoengineeringwatch.org, Dane Wigington's reputable site on the topic, with documents, patents, films, photos, and his weekly presentations on the massive, global, damaging, climate, engineering programs in our skies today...

So, a bunch of Karen's buy houses right next to a bird sanctuary. Now they want the sanctuary removed, after they got their houses at a reduced price. Same as the Karen's who buy houses next to railway tracks, power stations etc.
The same playbook has been used over and over again.

We, the sheeple, love nature. Everywhere we see beautiful nature, we build houses, roads, car parks and other crap over it. Then we move somewhere else because there's no nature here anymore.

What is "go commando"? Do you have to walk around in camouflage? When you go shopping, do you have to attach zip lines to the trees and scoot along and then swim underwater instead of taking a taxi over a bridge?
Oh, maybe you don't go shopping, you have to go hunting and foraging for food in the local park like "Survivor Man"?
Sound's interesting. Cant imagine eating the local squirrels and pigeons, though.

I'm sure if the "Rare Spotted TrumpTurd" was nesting there, we'd have all the local QAnon's out protecting its habitat.

I think Americans have had it with these Democrats. I mean, look around you! Republicans might not be the solution.. but Democrats are DEFINITELY the problem.

How much are the Real Estate Developers paying them to protest?! Real Estate LLCs needs another cash cow , assisted living building for the mentally tortured, newly released from prison, the new Poor House on Rockaway- where they take their Social Security & Food Stamps. Who cares about mere birds when they could be raking in the Nazarene Green?

Don't care about what? The birds? The housing developers? Please elaborate if you are capable?
