Crowley re-elected party boss

From Sunnyside Post:

Outgoing Congressman Joseph Crowley has retained the chairmanship of the Queens Democratic Party–despite losing his primary to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in June.

The Queens Democratic Party voted 60 to four to reelect Crowley during a meeting at the Georgia Diner this morning, reported the New York Post.

Crowley, who has been the party’s chair since 2006, has been long known as a Queens “kingmaker” with powerful influence on party endorsements and appointments.

Although he lost by a wide margin to Ocasio-Cortez in June, his victory this morning suggests that he has managed to hold on to sway within the party, analysts said.

Among the four dissenting voters was Hiram Monserrate, who was elected a Democratic district leader for the 35th district last week, reported the New York Post.

Like Pennywise, he just keeps coming back.

Alexandra better watch out because this horrendous development will give him legitimacy to voters, well easily scared voters, in November. And doing that stupid Vogue fashion spread with blue collar workers wearing upscale designer clothes and shoes doesn't help her either.

Crowley's handlers - Sweeney, Reich, and Bolz - do not want Ocasio-Cortez to muck up the patronage/developer deals. Even if she slips in, she'll have to answer to Virginia Joe and his puppet masters. He'll be assigned to "show her the ropes" and how it's done.

VOTE CHAIRMAN JOE, NOT THE SOCIALIST SCHMO!

We're witnessing a sad, confused party whose machine is becoming completely irrelevant.

No one running for dem office in Queens needs to kiss the ring anymore. Sure, the machine will maybe try harder to stop them, but it's not going to work. Sweeney, Reich, Crowley, Bolz... these old guys are going to die off sooner or later. Who are they going to leave their broken machine to? Liz?

It's over. They lost. They just don't realize it yet.

Well, his cousin Liz did a nice job campaigning for John Liu

Once in DC Ocasio-Cortez will be undressed as the fool she is and be trounced in her attempt for re-election. She will then join the MSNBC peanut gallery and actually be able to afford her $3,500 outfits.

Yep, a Queens party boss who doesn't even live in Queens.

Wow, what a Sophies Choice in candidates: a thoroughly corrupt greasy machine cog who doesn't even live in his district, or a committed Socialist who can't even spell the word and who is a complete idiot. Listening to her ill-informed blather has caused a heretofore unknown medical condition in voters; those who are educated people start to laugh hysterically, while those low IQ voters strain their ears waiting for her to complete her list of promised freebies. And the best thing is, money will fall from the skies into your hands!

If you do not elect Crowley then who else? Who can fund raise a ton to keep the Queens County operation and unite blocks of votes to get a better deal for Queens?

We have seen in Queens in the past, also Queens Republicans, Brooklyn Dems, and Staten Island Dems when you have a weak leader who cannot unite a large block of votes and cripple the party's operation with lack of real fund raising.

On the WFP line!!!!! Should win and send AOC back to whatever workers paradise she crawled her way out of!

Still has his tentacles on everything.

Why isn't he campaigning? He is on the ballot. He lost the Democrat primary, not the Working Families Party. He needs to get out there and win this election.

Republicans will vote for him. The alternative is a free spending liberal that will tax us to death.

Joey Peralta , that IDC turncoat , will no doubt try to get another handout job from old Joe. Virginia Joe will continue to hand out patronage jobs to his buddies

Meh, say hello to the new boss, same as the old boss. That guy is gonna go out with a deathgrip on the borough. Look here, you could always e-mail some of them and ask why they thought Crowley should remain.

Joe Crowley was behind the destruction of the IDC. Can't have anyone who's not beholden to him in office. And even better, it allowed him to subvert the gullible Berniecrats at the same time.

This guy is the equivalent of Nancy Pelosi to the Queens Democratic party.
He's been there too long and the voters don't want him there but nobody knows how to get rid of him. Sort of like a political wart, he just keeps popping up.

I said this before and it's worth repeating;

The micro-picture here is one of a divided Democrat party at odds with itself and biting pillows to pieces over their defeat by Trump. Everything was going just fine in lib-town NYC ....until that fateful day Trump won.

Yes, 2016 caused a sort of psychotic break in the democrat party. In Queens, which has become one of the dingier fiefdoms in the party network, that psychosis has taken the form of a sort of revolt against the ersatz "party leaders" wearing creased, polyester-blend suits.

Thus, the rise of the new and improved "socialists", the Democratic Socialists who will see Queens through these troubled Trump years with free tuition, free housing, free medical care and free all-you-can-eat buffets from Auburndale to Astoria.

The macro-picture is of NYC following the direct path to San Francisco (away from the Center-Right nation) with democrat "elites" crowding into a high priced core while dictating from above to create a bubble of self-delusion while the middle class neighborhoods that defined the character of the city for a hundred years are scrubbed clean of their silly bourgeois values in favor of third world conditions and artisanal cheeses.

So for all you Dems that continue to vote for the party to make things better, ask yourselves what exactly is going better in Queens for the past 20 years. I'm talking quality of life, not property values. Equating the two is like sitting on a golden throne with a bad case of dysentery; it feels good until you're ankle deep in poop.

THIS MAN DOES SQUAT FOR QUEENS - ALL HE DOES IS HELPS HIS BUDDIES.

IF HE WAS DOING HIS JOB OCCASIO WOULD NOT BE ON THE DEM TICKET AND IF HIS PARTY WAS DOING ITS JOB TRUMP WOULD NOT BE IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

THE DEMOCRATS ARE HEADING TO OBLIVION LIKE THE REPUBLICANS. A TOXIC MIX OF OLD LADIES WHO THINK EVERY DEM IS JOHN KENNEDY, FRESH OF THE BOAT, THE BRAIN DEAD, WANNA-BEES AND DEAD PEOPLE ARE KEEPING THIS CHUCKLEHEAD IN OFFICE.

HE IS AN EMBARRASSMENT TO THE BOROUGH AND TO THE MEMORY OF REAL DEMOCRATIC LIKE ROOSEVELT. DON'T WORRY, THE WEASELS SAW HIM DEFEATED BY OCCASIONAL CORTEX AND THEY SMELL BLOOD. ITS A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THEY BRING HIM DOWN - AND HE KNOWS IT.

Oh shit, not you again.

Alexandra is a breath of fresh air and can do no harm, this guy is toxic. Never done a thing for anyone outside his cronies. Even the Dem leadership wants nothing to do with him.

AOC represents a demographic shift of the voters, people don’t want a white old man who lives in Virginia disenfranchising their mostly Latino district. Manton to Crowley to a Latino or Latina leader. It is only a matter of time.

The QQQ (Queens Quandary of Quackery) voted to place a guy in Virginia to run their affairs in a the back of a restaurant ?
What about the peoples vote to toss his ass?

"i would take joe over her any day of the week she will get nothing done for queens"
Wrong, get nothing done is exactly how you want democrats because they only make changes for the worse. They will feed you a spoon full of shit called "progress"
Take a good look around or drive into Queens via the 59st bridge and see the horror called "progress" !
I already had enough crooks, developers and change for the worse gotta vote republican.

Notice that we haven't seen or heard from Crowley since the election. He's back in Virginia.

Disraeli wrote that the Irish were "wild, reckless, indolent, uncertain and superstitious race [who] have no sympathy with the English character. Their ideal of human felicity is an alternation of clannish broils and coarse idolatry."

Strabo (63 BC - 21 AD) characterized Celts "Geographia" as : "The whole race is fanatically fond of warfare. They are vociferous and act on impulse. When they are upset, they immediately gather together in groups in the open, to urge on to warfare, without the slightest preparation or reflection. They are therefore quite easily deceived and overpowered."
