Comptroller notices that 7 train runs poorly

From Jackson Heights Post:

The 7 train is one of four trains deemed the “worst offenders” for subway delays, with delays on this line costing the city between $13.7 million and $29 million annually, according to a recent report from the NYC Comptroller.

The Oct. 1 report breaks down subway lines based on weekday ridership, train schedules, and wait assessments, coming up with a cost analysis based on “best-case”, “mid-range”, and “worst-case” delay scenarios.

The annual economic cost of the 7 train in terms of “best-case” major delays is $13,685,550, based on the more than 117,000 weekday 7 line riders. “Mid-range” major delays on this line result in an annual cost of $18,793,342. The “worst-case” delays on the 7 line cost the city’s economy $29,009,935.

Too much over building along the line. Service can NEVER be good on a 3 track antiquated system. How many people (satdines) can you stuff into a train?

Deporting of illegals would help the train move better.

Third world population, third world subway system

Certainly Mario's son probably regrets suggesting to commuters to look more closely at service performance and maintenance.

Time to bombard Andy's twitter feed again with "fix the subway idiot"

Take the seats out(they started doing that on the E) and put some hand holds on the outside of the train, and we can go the full third world.

no sh*t Sherlock! You didn't need a report to figure that out. all a person has to do i open their eyes and know that the 7 line is horrible. i have been riding it for over twenty years and its gotten worse and worse as time has rolled on. it's an abhorrent line, but sadly the only option for some.

But what counts as a delay? If the trains run every 5 minutes or less be if you have to wait 20 minutes to a half hour as on other trains for regular service without "delays" ...

How many people can you stuff in a car? Depends on who you talk.

Democrats, building a 3rd world slum that will reliably fund their staffing and voting needs for the future will say one thing.

Republicans, wanting empty towers for the indulgent rich will say something very different.

Since the rest of you don't 'do' politics, giving one lame excuse or another, those are the only viewpoints of value.

WHAT? WHAT?? THIS IS NEW?

The Comptroller HIMSELF is corrupt and runs poorly (and, he always has, and Scott Stringer always WILL CONTINUE to be hyper-corrupt, along with his vapid, 'Friends & Family' city payroll agency staff (comprised of the 'lunch-and-a-manicure' set, as a stressful day at One Centre Street!), as long as DemonRat, party-machine-failed politics and corrupt party bosses continue to pre-select We, the People's political henchmen)."

And, regarding the entire behemoth known as the MTA (Massacre, Trauma & Arrogance), these voracious, predatory and rapacious thieves have never stopped lying, cheating and stealing, with a vengeful impunity that is unprecedented, to date——a testament to how a corrupt, Mafia-thug-in-action like Governor 'Gargoyle Andy' Cuomo (and his dynastic reign of intensely incompetent, and lethally dangerous rule by terrorism), has destroyed all pretense of public trust, ethics, integrity, accountability and transparency, as he NOW springs into action for PUERTO RICO (JUST IN TIME FOR HIS REELECTION BID, and to escape his long ago and delinquent responsibilities in Albany and the Executive Chamber of Horrors), whilst completely ignoring New York State government constituents like me, altogether (a dereliction of public duty), as he recently and unilaterally chose to rename the Tappan Zee Bridge, in DISHONOR of his equally crooked-and-corrupt father, Mario, without any trace of public referendum——and, the public be DAMNED (again and STILL)!

The 7 line was a hell hole back when I rode it in the 60's and 70's.

LMAO !! The John Rocker Express !! Yes and it hasn't changed a bit. In the morning its been like a Mosh Pit at the Flushing Main Street Station for at least a decade and a half. I've been tempted for years to bring a boom box and blast Nine Inch Nails so they have music to Mosh to and it wouldn't seem so vile.

Just 2 days ago I was SHOVED out of the way by an asian woman so she could grab the seat I was ready to take. Of course I said "WTF was that about ?! She mumbled something and I said "If you cannot act like a nice, normal human being than you shouldn't leave your house "

Delays - from the hundreds of thousands of dollars the MTA has spent on switches that malfunction, people that try to shove their way onto already packed trains and can't seem to figure out that the door isn't going to close and the train won't move until they get off because their fat butts don't fit !!

Its just a CF on the 7 train.

The 7 train? Whole Flushing is an overcrowded mess.
They are selling/renting apartments in the middle of the old municipal parking lot for millions/thousands.
But hey you get a front row seat to the demolition derbies thanks to the gambling buses driven by alcohol fueled drivers.
Does the IRS check how so called "immigrants" can afford these luxuries?
Just asking.
