DeBlasio jacks rent for his own properties

From Politico:

Despite calling for rent freezes for the city's roughly 1 million rent-stabilized apartments, Mayor Bill de Blasio continued to raise rents on several properties he owns in Park Slope, new figures obtained by POLITICO show.

The mayor and his wife have increased the monthly rent on one of the units in a two-family house they own to $2,850 last year, from $2,400 in 2009. The increases came in $50 and $75 increments annually, according to a City Hall source who would speak only on background. They raised the other unit's rent by $25 to $1,825 in June of 2015.

They charge $4,500 for their primary residence, which they left in 2014 to move into Gracie Mansion. The two row houses, worth a combined $3.7 million according to city assessments, are on 11th Street in Park Slope.

The City Hall source would not explain why the mayor raised his own rents while pushing for a rent freeze from the city's Rent Guidelines Board, which has ruled for two years against increases on one-year leases for rent-stabilized apartments. Several years ago, a previous City Hall spokeswoman said the mayor charged his tenants more when he made home improvements.

The mayor's properties are not part of the state's rent-stabilization program, so he is not subject to the board's decisions and is free to charge whatever he wants.

The caption beneath the photo of that two-faced neoliberal corrupt goon says it all

"The City Hall source would not explain why the mayor raised his own rents while pushing for a rent freeze from the city's Rent Guidelines Board."

Why, because he's a boastful hypocrite who got away with committing crimes involving illegal fundraising, using fundraising to dole civic service favors to donors from p.r. firms, to tech companies, to real estate and developers and to hedge fund groups, and laundering money to campaigns for upstate senate seats to pathetically further his and the neoliberal donor class' agendas

Why, because this dummy needs all the money he can get, even after he went to the west coast to solicit from middle class and working poor killing tech firms.

Why again, because he's a stupid fucking idiot.

The comrade realizes capitalism is great! Well, for him, not others.

One must keep up with the property taxes and significant water board increases.

The comrade mayor has had some difficult times these past years and marijuana is not cheap...

That's what I like, a capitalist 'Progressive'. "We need lower rents, just not in my buildings".

Practice what you attempt to preach to others.

I am 100% certain that Mayor Bill de Assio was schooled in the 'Trilateral Commission' of 1981.

Alas, the corporate-owned media oligarchy felt SO COMPLETELY SAFE in openly broadcasting this lethally destructive subject (to the rank and file and American middle class), so that we could actually regard it as a whimsical form of comedy, and 'looney-tunes' conspiracy of nuttiness (when in fact it was the beginning of the entrenched, establishment-rigged New World Order, and the development of a 'synergy' that actually helped to 'shield and protect' all misconduct, corruption, graft and endless greed and oppression by multinational corporations, the government henchmen whom they owned, and the totally corrupt media outlets of propaganda lies, deniability and cover-ups).

Oh, how wrong they were! The truth is now so much more obvious than it was in 1981 (which was before social media and strong independent news sources).

In fact, there was GREAT coverage and attention directed to the 'Trilateral Commission' in the late 70s. This 'Red Flag' skit from Barney Miller is an attempt to marginalize those who were strenuously speaking out by the little reference to some 'crack-pot gee-whiz' fringey sounding publications and the related treatment of the actors who were scripted to react toward fellow actor/alarmist Jeffrey Tambor with disbelief and automatically label him unstable.

Slowly, it began to work. The Trilateral Commission was mentioned almost daily in the media back then. Now?? Do you think it went away and disappeared into corporate fascist owned oblivion? Damn F**KING straight, it did!

Same people, same ideals, different names. Over the last four decades, (right after the 60s debacle that nearly collapsed the corporate hold on the world's governments), the 'commission of industrialists' have learned new publicity/propaganda/brainwashing methods that were employed to precision (and persistent) effect!

And, from that 'social engineering/brainwashing/propaganda lying' point to present day post capitalism, the slowly anesthetizedof grinding consumerism/corporate wage slavery was awash in McDonald's, Burger Kings, 'Reality TV' (actually Non-Reality TV), manufactured terrorist threats, heinous acts of endless violence, and pseudo proxy, petrodollar wars, ad nauseum. These voracious, empowered idiots (of epic, humanitarian-and-ecological fail) don't want your vote—they don't even care whom anyone votes for, or if they vote at all—when THE 'Power Elite, 1% Zionist controlled Illuminati' OWN THEM ALL!

When are the feds going to look into the criminal activities of his Brooklyn friends he meets with once a week?

Whoever is renting the mayor's home, is paying $54,000 a year in rental, or $216,000 for the four-year term of the Mayor.
Who can afford to pay this much in rent?

That's a really good point. That stinks of a payoff. I bet they give the maximum to his campaign as well!
