Blue chip Paul Vallone quote

“The result is... If everybody’s railing against me in a particular neighborhood, do you think I’m gonna go run and say, ‘Let’s put $6 million in that neighborhood?’...We’re gonna go and work with the groups that are appreciative." - from an interview with the Queens Chronicle.

If "everyone" in a neighborhood is railing against you, then perhaps the problem is you. Furthermore, I'd think a skillful pol would try to sit down with community leaders and work it out before blacklisting an entire community that he is supposed to represent.

(But I'm not a cog in the Queens Machine.)

That's been then the problem all along. If you don't donate and kiss his ass you will get nothing. It's called corruption. I guess the developers donated a lot because we certainly have a lot more ugly giant brick boxes for homes going up everywhere. I can't believe people voted for him in the first place. I hope they learned their lesson and don't. Make the same mistake twice. We have never had as many massage parlors and rooming houses. And he couldn't care less as long as the checks keep rolling in.

I don't live in his district, but Stinky is a sellout bag of shit, chum and dead dicks. It would figure that he would empathize with the Figurehead/President with his deserved notoriety, which now includes the working people who voted for him that are now disillusioned and betrayed by his pandering lies.

With this quote, he condones and endorses blackmail to the people who disagree with him and the towns that need and are dutifully entitled to basic civic, municipal and federal services.

I hope Graziano beats him in the primary for the good of mankind in this borough and the city and state.

Although it might be difficult since Mario's son did not include ethics reform in his stupid state budget

Didn't the Vallones have widespread support in Astoria? But that didn't stop them from selling out their own neighborhood. I don't think it matters if you kiss Paulie Conehead's ring or dump sh!t on his front stoop - a Vallone will only do what's best for the Vallones, never what's best for the neighborhood.

Correction: the Vallones USED to have widespread support in Astoria, but that age cohort is now well into their 80s - and half of them are the score or so 'vice-presidents' in the geriatric Astoria Civic.

Any other support they have is like the river Platte: "a mile wide and an inch deep" - you see it most sadly in some of the local 'community' blogs of newer residents that are co-oped to be little more than shills for the shadowy LLCs that make up much the local business community.

Where there were once business districts filled with quality merchandise sold by mom and pops that had an interest in a strong community, you now find the same storefronts chock full of a revolving turnstile of 'eateries, hooka lounges, and bottle bar clubs' centering often to the 'Mediterranean mindset' and whose deposits are banked at a host of 'off brand' banks the community is known for.

What was once a good solid community now has grim old men standing at every corner waiting for someone to pay them for something in cash. So much for the vaunted impact of the 'Vallonia Family Values.'

I just noticed something, what is with Paul's head, it looks like it was sanded down on both sides at the top. He looks like a conehead.

consuming bribes in mass quantities

I also happened to notice bloggers and instagrammers doing promo work for Ratner's towers in downtown lame ass Brooklyn. This is obviously a widespread thing going on by the Gentrification Industrial Complex.

There's a lot of us in his district who think he's a corrupt bottom feeder. I'm not forgetting the HS plan he tried to hatch on the corner of 204th St & 32nd Ave on the site of the old Bayside Temple. We were pretty convinced there was something in it for some developer buddy of Vallone's. Who's running against him?

Get rid of this jerk already !
Vote the bum out...

Who's running against him? .

Paul Graziano has already declared his candidacy. Don't know if anyone else has.

Al Centola needs to run. Paul V will sell everyone out once he is term limited and Graziano is a nice guy but way too moody.

Al has proven his authenticity and integrity.

Al please run.

Passionate about protecting our neighborhoods from being wrecked? Absolutely.

Moody? Not so much.

Al is my good friend and will make a great elected official should he choose to run for office.

Anyone is "Allowed" to run. If you are enrolled in the Democratic Party, you need 450 valid signatures to get on the ballot. It was no problem in 2013, and won't be this year either.

Not sure about the bus metaphor, but I don't follow the Queens County Machine's dictates, as shown in my 20+ year record of protecting neighborhoods in northeast Queens.
