City hosting "safety day" at site it closed for being unsafe

74-10 88th Street. Hmmm...where do I know that address from? Oh yes, now I remember. It's the Glendale Yeshiva that was shut down for housing dozens of students contrary to zoning and building codes. And the NYPD has decided to host a safety day there.

You seriously can't make this shit up.

It's the Yeshivah trying to curry favor with the community. It's STILL not safe but the PR Mavens will tell you otherwise. I'd boycott this event like the plague...

The NYPD is going nuts. Bratton has to go, and it's not only for this planned event and venue. Is that all the city does these days is plan events?

Not only that, but they think people are stupid and can't take care of themselves. And why would they have a rock wall if they are trying to promote safety?

Speaking of promoting safety, how was that bag of dynamite in Central Park near busy streets, hotels and office buildings not on the level of an attempt of terrorism or even a test to see if it would work but instead what was described of the actions of a neglectful hobbyist?

"they think people are stupid and can't take care of themselves"

They don't want you to take care of yourself, they DO want you to think you aren't able to take care of yourself. It justifies their jobs in their eyes...

The Yeshiva chieftains believe in the old saw:

'Tis a lesson you should heed:
Try, try, try again.
If at first you don't succeed,
Try, try, try again

So much in government can be explained by "Right hand, meet left hand." :)

the fed.privacy laws do not include Unacompanied illegal alien children & refugees.
so why would the D.O.E.@c.s.d.26 refuse to identify these "BOARDING HOUSE PUPILS IN BAYSIDE ?Are they OVERSTAYS from the DEM.voted VISA WAIVER PROGRAM for 90Days and are now "IN THE WIND" .? Is NYC City Council promoting a SANCTUARY CITY for taxpayers to pay for the kids from the S.E.Asian area.?

I guess the jews are still a large voting block. Back to business as usual.

>I guess the jews are still a large voting block.

Given how Central Queens is all split up so that the Jewish neighborhoods are all in different districts, someone doesn't want them to be a large voting block any longer.

Who is the politician who strong-armed the 104th Precinct into holding this Safety Day event in this unsafe building? OR

Is someone in the 104th Precinct trying to curry favor with the politician who is looking for a handout from the owner of this unsafe building? OR

Is the owner of this unsafe building giving donations to all of the above expecting a quid pro quo?

Can someone please clarify this strange situation? And, please, don't tell me there is no intent here.

I just posted a comment asking for an explanation of why, what, when. where, and how this
safety Day program (in an unsafe building)came about.

After reading older posts on this Boarding School, one reader commented that the Manager of this school, Mr. Markowitz, secured a position as President of the Community Council in the 104th Precinct. It was also mentioned that Mr. Markowitz is NOT A RESIDENT of Queens.

My understanding is that you must be recommended by the local councilman to even be on that board.

Now I have three other questions:
1. Who was the Councilman in office when he was recommended?
2. How much was "donated" to his or her election campaign?
3. Are non-residents allowed to be on the Community Council Board as President?

Answers will be gratefully accepted.
