"I recall that you posted a while ago about the house at 53-27 254th Street, Little Neck.

NY Times Sunday Real Estate Section, page 8, "Residential Sales Around the Region" shows that the house sold for $3.65 million.

5 BR, 5 Bath, 2 half baths ... on the market for 15 weeks with Prudential Douglas Elliman; Perfect Real Estate

3-year-old stucco Mediterranean; family room, library, 3 fireplaces, home theater, batting cage, heated pool, 2-car garage. 63-by 219-ft. lot; taxes $17,275; listed at $3.8 million."

Actually, it was originally listed at $8 million, but who's counting?

Edgardo Alfonzo lowers price of Little Neck home

The former Mets All-Star infielder and current Long Island Duck Edgardo Alfonzo has lowered the price of his Little Neck house -- complete with basement batting cage -- to $6.1 million.

The 14,000-square-foot, five-bedroom, 5½-bath mansion has deluxe detailing throughout, including a master bathroom made of white- and gold-colored onyx. That bathroom alone cost $750,000 to build.

The home was most recently listed with Peggy Moriarty of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty for $7.6 million. When it was put up for sale last year, the asking price was $8 million.

Only two houses in Queens are currently listed for more money -- a high-ranch in Rosedale for $6.259 million, and a Colonial in Whitestone for $7.7 million.

A few weeks ago, QC featured the mega- McMansion of former Mets player Edgardo Alfonzo in Little Neck.
The house was put up for sale for $8 million, then knocked down to $6.5 million, reported the NY Times.
We got new photos of the monstrosity recently, and we'll let them speak for themselves!

Edgardo Alfonzo has had it rough lately. He was playing for the Mets AAA club last year after being released from the Blue Jays. Now the New York Times reports that he's leaving for good and trying to sell his recently renovated palace in Little Neck for $6.5 million:

You have to wonder, though, why NY Houses 4 Sale chose to announce, "Edgardo Alfonzo - Is moving out of Queens NY!" as if it's the best thing to happen to the borough since the '64 World's Fair. The weird thing is that he owned the place since 1999, but never lived in it.
