Excellent article.
I sojourned there many times for a bit of solitude back in the late 80's. Great area to open a six pack and smoke a joint.
But from the looks of it lately, especially since that bitch Sandy came here 5 years ago next week, the burgh doesn't have much time left standing.
I have a chapter on Hawtree Creek in my book, Hidden waters of New York City.
I always wondered about Hawtree Creek road that snakes up tsouth ozone to south richmond. It sort of resembles a river or creek.
