Expanding the farmhouse

I don't know anything about the history of this house other than it has that "classic farmhouse" look to it, albeit one that could use a facelift. It is located at 69-33 66th Road in Middle Village. I became concerned this past weekend when I saw that the windows had been removed and there was a construction fence around it, especially considering that another house could probably fit into that side yard.

But it turns out that the house is being horizontally enlarged, not demolished.

I'll follow up when the final product is unveiled.

This isn't an old Middle Village farm house, just an oldie probably built in the 1920's.

If you want to see an older farm type house go to BING or some other map site and look at the house to the left. That is much older.

Such a charming house and piece of property! Glad to see the homeowners are bringing new life and not demolishing this beautiful home. Hope this trend picks up a little faster in NY:)I am addicted to such shows that talk about these issues and promote preserving and restoration. Always watching American Pickers and Rehab Addict: Nicole Curtis!

This is currently a two family house and I can see it becoming a three family considering the way the land slopes down toward the backyard. The basement could easily become another apartment if legally allowed.

"Nicole Curtis"
Hmm she recently bought some lights from me that are going to be on the show.
Id kill for an old house and big detached garage and property like that in MV or Maspeth to restore.

I restore and stock all sorts of stuff like that, even 1940, 50s radios and TVs.
The radio used in "Frequency" with Dennis Quaid was one of mine. It was actually a Heathkit SB-301 receiver propped up as a Tranceiver with an extra IF board and Lionel train transformer to light and dim the tubes to match the camera and lighting (18-22 volts)

I have a detached 2 family (6 over 6) with a full basement that is on a huge (45X140) piece of land in Middle Village. It also has a three car garage in the yard and a private paved driveway. The kitchen opens onto a brick patio with a pear tree in the gigantic yard plus a lot of extras. I'm thinking of selling.
