When will Johnny drop the charade?

From the Daily News:

After taking fire for stretching the truth in his 2009 campaign, City Controller John Liu is again claiming that he toiled in a sweatshop beside his mother as a young child in Queens.

“After working in a sweatshop, John Liu — a son of immigrants — used education to get ahead,” Liu boasts in a campaign flyer distributed by his mayoral campaign this week.

The Daily News investigated the sweatshop claim four years ago, when Liu was campaigning for controller, and found his hard-knock child labor tale to be an extreme exaggeration.

Liu had come to the United States from Taiwan as a young boy but largely lived a middle-class life in Queens. His parents bought a large home in Bayside five years after arriving in the country and his banker father, who was studying for an MBA, went on to become president of a bank.

In a 2009 interview with The News, Liu’s mother debunked her son’s wild campaign story.

Jamy Liu said she worked on a knitting machine at home to help pay household bills, and that she sometimes asked her young son to help spin balls of yarn or thread. She would pay him 25 cents for each spool as part of his allowance.

TOTAL BS!

I believe that Liu's father, along with the "7 Giants" realty firm, OWNED that very same building in which that garment factory was located.

Little Johnny probably made dolls with those sweatshop fabric scraps, when his parents visited to collect the rent.

Liu is arrogant , obstinate and deceitful just like his relatives...Alice LIU Huang...and her infamous husband, Tommy Huang.

Lying is in their genes.
An Oriental will always fight to "save face" even as he is puling the dagger from the back of his victim.

"I'm innocent. The justice system is crooked"!

An addition and reminder:

Liu's father was a banker all right!
Joseph Liu was convicted on federal bank fraud charges (in effect) for robbing from the Great Eastern Bank on Main Street in Flushing.

Then the dumb voters made his son Comptroller, overseeing the biggest piggy bank in NYC!

Go figure ???

Why doesn't the press ask Mr. Liu what he thinks about the convictions of Thomas Huang and Alice Liu Huang.

At the same time, ask Mr. Liu what his relationship is to Alice Huang. He needs to address the situation once and for all.

He hasn't dropped the scam because he thinks that he's getting away with it.

Johnny's mind is succumbing to early onset dementia.

I think he's confusing the story line in Charles Dickens' "Oliver Twist", and mixing it in with his own privileged childhood.

Puhleeze....
from what we've heard, the Liu's had a big house and servants when they lived in Taiwan.

Little Johnny
was born with a platinum spoon up his ass and a silver one in his mouth!

That poor little Asiatic street urchin story does look like it's been ripped from the pages of a Charles Dickens novel.

LOL!
Oliver Liu..."Please sir, I want some more"!

From a first hand source:

John Liu indeed worked in sweatshops with his mother when they first arrived.

However, the mother quickly switched to working from home and rarely ever returned to the deplorable conditions at the factory.

So, is Liu lieing? Not really. But did his few months working a few hours a week a young traumatic incident. Not at all.

I worked in that same factory every weekend for a much longer period of time.

My first hand source? None other but my dear wise mom.
