Parks responds to yesterday's posting

"On a hunch, I walked past the site featured yesterday and found a Parks forestry officer directing an employee on how to fix the scaffold around the trees.

Unfortunately, the damage has already been done.

The scaffold openings have been widened, and in some areas, the side of the scaffold has been opened up.

It remains to be seen if the trees will survive the abuse.

I am wondering if a fine was levied, but will probably never find out.

Why does Parks respond after the fact instead of before the project gets underway?" - Anonymous

At least they showed up right after publication. I doubt the Parks Department has the manpower to check out every construction sight in the city. Let's put the full blame where it belongs, on the developer who doesn't give a rat's a*s about those trees.

Why wasn't the developer arrested? Why do our taxes have to be used to correct a developer's misdeeds?

Fine him big-time!

Is he a friend of Vallone's?

Why wasn't the developer arrested?

BECAUSE DEVELOPMENT IS BOTH THE LIFE BLOOD OF OUR CITY AND THE VERY REASON THAT IT WAS ... WELL ... DEVELOPED.

Why do our taxes have to be used to correct a developer's misdeeds?

NO GOOD REASON EXCEPT THAT YOU ROLL OVER LIKE A SILLY PUPPY EVERTIME A POL WALKS INTO A ROOM AND ... WELL WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOUR PUPPY ACTS LIKE A DOG - HOLD A TOWN HALL MEETING TO HEAR HIS CONCERNS ... OR TOSS HIM A LITTLE TREAT TO KEEP HIM HAPPY?

Fine him big-time!

NO, GIVE HIM OUR TAXES BIG TIME.

Is he a friend of Vallone's?

WAIT 'TILL NOVEMBER WHEN IT WILL ALL BE EXPLAINED TO YOU.
