Metal thieves vandalize World's Fair commemoration

I guess the price of scrap metal is too much to pass up these days.

Weekdays that park is overrun with vagrants and has ZERO security.
This is criminal on Mayor Mikes behalf.
It must have taken thieves at least 1 full man hour to chisel that out.
Those are embedded in hydraulic cement.
Imagine what what the crazy's and 3rd world scum living in the brush along the LIRR tracks and VWE can to to a small woman in that time.
The sick in the head Mayor is playing Russian roulette with Queens resident's US Citizens lives

The park is patrolled on weekdays, they have park police and 110 precinct, I see a lot of kids playing hooky from school sometimes.

Although I wouldn't go there at night.

How do you know they were taken for scrap.
Maybe they were taken from some crazy world's fair collector's.

**they have park police and 110 precinct**

Those cops parkies partol some soccer-fields and do NOTHING anything about vagrant's.
This just give out summonses for smoking and what ever they wish to call "professional" photography.
I should know I was handcuffed and detained for it for having digital SLR and zoom lens during the US Open. (I was taking a time exposure of the unisphere fountains with a tiny 10 inch pocket tripod)

--Try a bike ride over ether bridge to the lake area or Avery ave before noon.
The 5150's and bush Bashi just waking up eye ball & size you up.
The place is its another planet

"Crazy World's fair" collectors want items FROM the Fairs - not this stuff placed recently. This was taken for metal I think. Some of this new stuff is even incorrect - look at the engraved date on the new structure where the Billy Rose Aquacade was. It says "1963 Worlds Fair" - pathetic idiocy. MB
