QUEENS CONTRACTOR SHOT

By JANA WINTER, NY POST

June 16, 2007 -- A city building contractor was shot twice in the head execution-style yesterday morning in the driveway of his Queens home, police said.

Boris Grzic, 54, was fighting for his life late last night at New York Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

The would-be assassin shot Grzic as he was getting into his BMW at about 7:15 a.m. at his home at 145-48 17th Road in Whitestone.

The Croatian-born Grzic reportedly started his $50 million business out of his garage in 1983.

Since then, his Whitestone Construction Corp. has won numerous contracts with the city and state.

Grzic had been embroiled in a dispute with a roofer, sources said.
