The AOC wants you to vote for Wiley

Gothamist

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has endorsed Maya Wiley, the former civil rights attorney who worked as counsel for Mayor Bill de Blasio, as her first choice for New York City mayor, an unexpected development that could galvanize progressives in a race where the left has been fractured by controversy and lack of excitement.

The popular congresswoman, whose support is courted by liberal Democrats across the country, had up until now kept the public guessing as to whether she would weigh in on the race. But in a surprise move, she delivered the news on Saturday at an event in City Hall Park that was initially intended to highlight her choices for City Council.

Afterward, she pivoted to the primary, warning of "dark money" in the race, an allusion to Eric Adams, the Brooklyn borough president, and Andrew Yang, the former presidential candidate. Both men, who are considered frontrunners, are being funded by Super PACS.

"We cannot afford to sit on the sidelines," she told a crowd of supporters at City Hall Park. "We can’t afford to not engage because of what could happen. The stakes can't be higher."

In a preview of how she may campaign for Wiley, she warned of some candidates who would cater to wealthy interests, through policies such as "privatizing the school system," a reference to the charter school movement, criminalizing the homeless and mentally ill, and placing less focus on affordable housing.

"We’ve already tried Giuliani’s New York," she said. "We’ve already tried Bloomberg’s New York."

She described Wiley as someone who "grew up in the movement," a reference to her parents who worked as civil rights activists, and a "north star for policy."

"She has been dedicating her life to this," she said.

This is a cult.

This is a big test of AOC's political influence. If Ms. Wiley moves from the back of the pack to winning the primary, AOC's political influence, already substantial, will grow to gargantuan proportions. If however, Maya Wiley doesn't win in overwhelmingly progressive NYC, AOC's stock will fall.

Said Ocasio-Cortez outside City Hall:

"“If we don’t come together as a movement, we will get a New York City built by and for billionaires, and we need a city for and by working people...So we will vote for Maya No. 1.”

Working people, schmuck, LOVE billionaires - they give them JOBS. And they can ASPIRE to climb the ladder of wealth themselves.

Ocasio-Cortez you are a historical ignoramus. Socialism in all its versions- Russian, Chinese, German = was and still is the greatest cause of politico-economic misery on the planet

And where does Wiley get her hair done? A plumbing supply house? That stringy thing on her head looks like a slop bucket mop.

Why does an imbecile who hates America and is a raging antisemite have such political influence? That is my obvious question. She makes Hank Johnson, Sheila Jackson Lee, and Maxine Waters look like Rhodes scholars in comparison.

Yes, we tried Giuliani, we tried Bloomberg, and what we got were safe, clean streets, strong economic development, businesses that wanted to do business here, people had jobs, great parks, etc etc. Thanks to our current socialist mayor, this city is right back down in the pits. And AOC wants to elect Maya Wiley, a hateful bigot and hypocrite herself, to the highest office in the city. God helo us all

@anon “ Why does an imbecile who hates America and is a raging antisemite”
AOC hates America? Is an antisemite? Where did you get this from? Was she down in Borough park pulling their curly hair? Did she put a bounty on US soldiers? Where did you get this information?

My wife’s company who loves to support the latest SJW cause probably won’t be opening up their NYC office again. Crime and taxes overruled their woke minds. Reality is finally setting in. NYC isn’t welcoming or appealing to certain people anymore. Left/center Democrats, when forced to make a decision, don’t want to live or work in a filthy crime infested city. No matter what they post on Facebook.

Now the Gargoyles are fighting over which one will perch over the top of NYC !

@GTA "Climb the ladder of wealth" Yes with hard work and a little luck !

AOC's Marxist agenda is bad for the Dems.
Biden HUMILIATED again after Joe Manchin’s SHOCKING move siding with Trump...GOPS have all power now. Manchin deserves the Medal of Freedom !
Manchin has integrity something the Dems like AOC and Piglosi don’t have.

Vote in NY? Who the hell cares? Defund the cops, let rioters and criminals take over your city, and we are supposed to care in the least what happens there anymore? If you let the criminals rule the roost then you get what you deserve. Defund away, most of America doesn't care. It's your own neighborhoods you are defunding the cops from, not ours. The more liberals defund their police the safer everyone else's town gets because the criminals go there, so thanks libs and keep up the good work. This is what they get for voting for liberals. If you want law and order, vote red. If you want riots and looting, keep voting for Democrats. This is not rocket science.

This AOC ? She ''blocked funds'' getting to her grandmother
“Sorry about the horrible conditions you’re living in, Granny, but I’m not done using you yet.”
When you hate your percived enemies so much you'd rather your grandmother suffer in near poverty than let them look slightly good. Just like the Amazon deal ?

I've got a real bad feeling about this

Either AOC would rather her Abuela live in a dilapidated house than accept donations from conservatives or she tried to exploit her family for political gain. Neither of those are flattering whatsoever. The Left Hates Private charity but loves UBI !

AOC: the public must foot the bill for my abuela!!!
Public: donates the money
AOC: it only counts when it's tax money!!!!!

❝The political system, as many Bernie Sanders supporters are about to discover, is immune to reform.
