Queens Is Burning

Impunity City

NY Daily News

A massive fire tore through six Queens homes early Thursday, displacing 36 residents and injuring three firefighters battling the blaze, officials said.

The flames erupted inside a closed beauty salon on Jamaica Ave. near 110th St. in Richmond Hill around 1 a.m., the FDNY said.

The fire quickly climbed up the two-story building into an attic space, then spread to adjoining buildings.

Check these places on google earth - they were slums - the locals stored all sorts of junk on the windowsills. Queens is a reply of the Bronx from a few decades back.

Incredible compassion for the misplaced families.

These old shit buildings are fire traps with common cocklofts and ancient half-assed wiring.

One takes their life in their hands living in them.

Given the current situation, I would not discount the insurance factor as well.

I used to live around the block and feel for the families who lost their homes.

I really wonder why all these fires happen in Richmond Hills. Are they insurance scams? You know what? the families burnt out will do a lot better than I will in the coming year. This is why one should always have insurance even if you are a renter.
