More flooding in South Ozone Park...this time with abandoned cars on the streets

I live in south ozone park just off south conduit and 130th street. One of the big problems we have here are cars parking in the same spot for weeks and months and not moving.. most of the cars do not belong to people who actually live here. Over the last 5 months it has become unbearable here. This is a very small neighborhood maybe 100 homes in this section of south ozone park. Yes every neighborhood deals with this issue but since it’s so bad here I thought I would let people know how bad it is.. if there was a way to find out what part of south ozone park has the most 311 complaints I’m sure my section would be number 1 on the list.. I must of done a 311 complaint every single day since September. Wether it’s for a abandon car parked over seven days. A car blocking a driveway or hydrant a commercial vehicle parked over night which is another big problem here but that’s a story for another day . Here are some pics of cars parked over seven days some even marked for tow cars with missing plates on the street.

Some more pics the Honda Civic has been parked on the opposite side of the street for almost two months it’s been ticketed to

Put in some bike lanes problems solved !

That's very funny and apt Anon. I have never heard a word from the morons at Transportation Alternatives about installing bike lanes in Southeast Queens.

Same old shitty Queens, same old shitty NYC. Time for some of you to get out of Dodge. I did and I only wish I did it years ago.

I don't understand this, I keep reading stories like this at the same time that cops give out tickets and tow cars for the slightest excuse. Why can't they leave my neighborhood alone and hang out in South Ozone Park instead?

For that matter, the car thieves should head over there too. Clearly no one will care if these cars vanish; not the locals, not the owners, not the police.

So...friend of mine biking in the Blasio bike lane on Parsons Blvd. and someone in a parked car suddenly opens driver side door with no chance to react, my friend goes flying. Lands head first on the road, van behind him cannot stop, runs over the bike totaling it, barely missing my friend on the road, lying unconscious. Cops called, no show. Finally ends up in the hospital. Both drivers remained on the scene, scared shit. In his words: whoever came up with these bike lanes should go to jail!
Lifelong biker, never had an issue until now. Is this the idea? For people to get hurt?
No wonder they call this scam Vision Zero, they have none.

Grand Central service road in Forest Hills. The 18 wheelers, trucks now parking almost by Jewel Avenue. Residential area and they cannot use GCP. Blocking 1.5 lane creating a super dangerous situation, drivers entering from side streets cannot see vehicles approaching on the service road. Not to mention the rest of the chaos they are creating especially rush hour.

Where is the police? Where are the traffic enforcement agents? I have never seen such blatant ignorance of multiple laws.

So dumping a few cars in S. Jamaica apparently is no big deal.

Last anon.

Dumping a "few" cars in South Ozone Park is a big goddamn deal thank you. This neighborhood along with other areas in the Southeast Queens vicinity has been used as public junkyard and dump for decades. Why should it continue? The severity of the problems is just as important as the shitty bike lanes and illegal parking in the areas you experienced.

But I think we can all agree is that this city is fucked.

Looks like your 106th Precinct is engaged for this tow operation!!

The morons at D.O.T. and City Hall are lunatics who regard bike lanes and pedestrian plazas as "traffic calming" measures. Trottenberg is a deluded entitled fool.

@JQ LLC

Sarcasm my friend, sarcasm. I feel your pain.
This is city is being led by a retard, obviously some other powers are making decisions.
Mostly of nothing, but ripping the people of NYC off.

Here, get steamed a bit:

Don't want you folks in NYC to feel alone. I live in a very small town. We don't have bike lanes, but traffic is so light that anyone can bike anywhere they want to. Do they? Hell no! Maybe half a dozen people bike here, off and on. Twenty miles south of us, a town of 7,500, very small by NYC standards, just spent hundreds of thousands of dollars putting up these crappy bike lanes. Does anyone use them? No. I've never seen it. There isn't even a bike store in the entire county. A town thirty miles east of us, another county, a town of 120,000 spent millions putting up bike lanes. I have only seen one biker, ever, use those lanes, when I visit. He was smoking a cigarette while riding for his health. That town only has three bike stores all on the east side of their town, which is the most automobile congested part of their city. What's up with these bike lanes, all over the country? Totally Nuts! Martians?

Anon: Sarcasm

I missed it, your comment was very detailed. Well, done.

@ JQ LLC "But I think we can all agree is that this city is fucked."
Yes we are but it can and will get better when "We" the people have had enough !
We are not there yet but if this "Crap" gets worse residents who can move do and make room for the new people. It's up to the people who stay and the new New York City residents to make it better. Just trying to stay positive during the Holidays !

311 has a service request map. You can see everything that has come in through 311 by location on the map. It gives info on what the complaint is about.

Do not preach to each other, exercise civics people. call up your electeds and share with us their (non) responses. go ahead, call the beep wanna bees and ask them why this is not in their literature.

afraid of them?

Joe Moretti wrote dozens of blogs about abandoned cars and trucks in his now defunct clean up jamaica now blog to no avail. It seems most Queens residents are ok with this crap voting overwhelmingly for de blasio and cuomo in the last two elections.

Is called Agenda 21....educate yourself. IS important that we all know what is going on in this world and elect politicians that represent us not some elite.

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2012/06/inside-agenda-21-international-tyranny-bike-lanes/326592/

The bike lanes are a worldwide phenomenon, I'm very well traveled and I see this all over the world plus pedestrian plazas and traffic calming devices that are very dangerous if they are placed on a highway. Yes. On a highway. These are globalist socialist scum, that steal and lie. This time ignorance will cost everybody dearly. Time to start paying attention and change all this nonsense.

@Trottenberg is a deluded entitled fool.

My first reaction was the same. However she is not. She and the rest of the crew are calculating little pieces of shit, they think everybody is stupid. So lower the speed to 25 miles/hr, install 700+ cameras, ticket at $50 a pop - well some money making racket. Add the red light cameras and there you have it. What both type of cameras are not doing is to STOP speeding and/or red light running. No points, no insurance increase, you see is all BS. I know people that got 6 camera speeding tickets, no problem paying it. Will hurt some poor person, but overall is about ripping people off.
Of course the price of the tickets will be adjusted to reflect inflation.

Bikes? No problem, I have 3 of them, including a folding bike. I was riding a bike when DeBozo was still smoking peyote. However all these bike advocates are getting funds from the drivers mostly to fund their lanes. How do you call this? Socialism. That's how.

he Times-Standard, a northern California newspaper, printed an op-ed alleging that the County General Plan was based on Agenda 21, and planners of using a mind-control technique to dupe the masses. Quoting a book called Behind the Green Mask: U.N. Agenda 21, the op-ed says:

"Developed by the Rand Corporation as a Cold War mind control technique, (the Delphi technique) is used to channel a group of people to accept a point of view that is imposed on them while convincing them that it was their idea. In the 1970s and '80s, it was used to convince land owners of the merits of accepting General Plan maps... This is most often done in public meetings, called 'visioning meetings,' put on by your city or county to get your opinion on Your Town 2020 or 2035... The meetings are advertised as an opportunity for you to give your input to an exciting new plan for the redesign of your city center for the future... Delphi is used in... places where the organizers want to give the appearance that they have listened to community opinion and incorporated it into their plan."

Sounds familiar?

Ever notice it’s the same couple dozen of bike lane supporters from Trans Alternatives who show up at these protests? They have no qualms about biking 24 miles a day to and from Manhattan. In the rain, sleet, snow, or dangerous heat. They are 😜 lunatics .

You can ascribe FULL blame and punishment to one of THE most corrupt and unaccountable shitheads (besides de BLASS-hole), like Bloomberg, and his brain damaged stooge, Janette Sadik-Kahn (now, a permanent, 'suck up,' Bloomberg employee in his privately evil, corporate empire of satanic cult worship).

And, now that Bloomberg murdered New York, altogether, with impunity (during the 12 years of failed public service, four of which completely abrogated We, the People's public referendum votes that TWICE adopted term limits - says Bloomberg: 'The LAW is the LAW), then, like ALL arrogant, evil, predatory and rapacious cowards of extreme narcissism and cognitive dissonance, he leaves New York, altogether for an ironic move to London, where NOTHINGs in his multi-million manse can be modified because of the landmark laws that are enforced in that city and country.

Now, the modern day, 21st century New York City and New York State is so completely entrenched in massive corruption, graft and monstrous greed, that the entire state is on the verge of obliterating fiscal, humanitarian, ecological, spiritual and government collapse!
