Update on Flushing tree pits

"The downtown Flushing tree pits are untidy no more !
Could the Queens Crap post on 8/27/16 have made this happen ?
I think so ..."

Smooth.

Looks like they cement it over. More for them sidewalk to shovel in winter.

That actually looks like a good job.

I hope it doesn't sink as it sets.

Where are the locals going to put their trash now? (see the prior blog photo)

Looks like the solution was cement.
Oops....then we have to replace all that cement with bioswales.
Uh...who gets the contract for those?

CB7, Flushing Chamber, BID, One Flushing?
Who took care of this?

There are too many cooks in the kitchen here in Flushing. Nobody knows what the other one is doing. His much taxpayer money was wasted on those tree pits to begin with?

where will the dogs leave their poop? Who will make money building tree pits....come to Astoria!!!

Cemented up today but reopened later on just to plant a tree.
Wasting tax payers.
You see it every day. A newly paved road one week and in a month a chopped up mess.
Why? Then they do not replace it. They just patch it up and low and behold a sink hole comes.
No one is ever on the right page.

Any way to find out how much it cost ?

The sidewalk was made wider but the tree pits ended up being in the middle of the walkway. When the trees died the pits was left unmaintained causing them to become tripping hazards and filled with litter.

So now, instead of a tiny bit of green grass and some nice cobblestones on the street, there's none at all, just endless cement.

How is this an improvement?

It's improvement because the tripping hazard is gone and waste and litter will no longer collect. The main issue is the dead trees where not replaced or moved closer to the curb where most trees are planted.

Dog poop?
The Chinese still dump their trash anywhere they please.
Welcome to overcrowded, unsanitary Little Taipei!
