Katz declines comment on snow situation

John Schiumo on NY1 said tonight that he had invited Melinda Katz to give the “First Word” about the snow plow conditions in Queens.

But she declined.

This came up, because a caller complained about the poor snow plow conditions, and the caller complained that de Blasio had complained that people in Queens were responsible for the unplowed streets, because we were cleaning snow off our cars back into the streets. Then, the caller asked, “Where is the Queens Borough President ?” That’s when John Schiumo dropped the bomb about Melinda Katz.

I see a lot of finger pointing on why many Queens streets remained unplowed until Monday. One reason stated that some streets were too narrow for the plows. How come my street has been plowed during and immediately after many snowstorms in the past (30+ years), but all of a sudden, my street go smaller or did the plows get wider?!!!! I think it's just mis-management and wrong resource distribution (Manhattan and other smaller boroughs, streetwise).

That's her alright. She cannot be trusted. Queens gets screwed more by her than they did by the blizzard!

Katz doesn't represent the families of Queens. She is self-serving in her schemes to swindle the residents of Queens. And don't believe anything she says about saving the NYS Pavilion. She had nothing to do with it and only got involved when private enterprise showed her up.

She cant (scared) to insult the mayor or make him look bad knowing the mayor will punish her and Queens even more. A friend of mine who works at NBC told me all news stories regarding the mayor in "a negitive ligt" or problems in Queens NOT be culled from last nights 11PM news. And that’s EXAXTLY what happened NOT A PEEP of it on any of the 11PM TV news last night. (im sure many HAD to notice this)
The problem is the Mayors Office of TV Film and Media controls every one of the permits TV news needs to operate in NYC. It was formed by Mayor John Lindsay after he was shown on TV being booed and hit with snowballs some time around 1969 and passed off as a shill to bring movie filming in public spaces back to NYC.

Same size streets, only more cars parked in the street and no where else to park them. Years ago one car households now one car for each person and one to spare. So what else can you really expect??

Facebookers have been posting video of snow removing equipment from other locales that draw in the snow from the front and feed the snow to a dump truck following up from the rear. As a Whitestoner, are streets are wide enough to move snow off to the side. But with the narrow streets of many Queens and Brooklyn neighborhoods, you'd think Sanitation would be have the smarts to buy a dozen of these units. NOT.

The Commissioner of the city's sanitation department blamed alot of the miscommunication on the 'Plow NYC App'. She said that possible issues with GPS system used by the app provided inaccurate data. Those that used the app didn't have the correct real-time data showing that their streets had or had not been plowed. She blamed everything except for her crews.

She's a complete and utter fucking coward for not saying anything.

She doesn't have the guts to defend the people of her own borough.

What a pig.

Worthless.

Why should she complain I bet her block was plowed many times during the blizzard.

But everyone " wants to come to Queens" where we speak a thousand languages and if it's good for families it's good for Queens. What BS! What about the 500,000 single households living in Queens????

Just like in a true Banana Republic. Funny how these liberal progressive democ-rats have dictator tendencies.
They tell the world they have solutions for everything.
In real life they not even qualified to light a candle.
Katz? Who is she? The woman Curtis Sliwa used to live with?

Don't vote for Katz in the next election

Queens boro presidents have always been clueless just like Deblasio

This was the SAME PROBLEM that Commissioner Doherty faced in 2010. Why was there no knowledge transfer !?

When she was still with Sliwa, I wonder if she preferred front loaders or rear loaders?

Anonymous said...

I was wondering why the city with record snow fall didn't declare a snow emergency. Then cars would have to be off those street and they could be plowed and cleaned up.

Anonymous said...

Haha sliwa was on ny1 last night talking about snow response, but no melinda.

Anonymous said...

I'll bet the street where Katz lives in Forest Hills got plowed.
Maybe Sliwa did a little "plowing" himself. Where were his "Guardian Angels"?

Anonymous said...

Don't blame it on an App. It's not the App that is physically going to clean our streets. Human error )lazyness) is at fault...

Melinda knows everything is rigged and can't lose relection so keep complaining,She can't hear you, lol,
Term limits are for fetus not politicians.

And I do not understand how and why they say, "Alternate side parking is suspended because of snow removal" - how does allowing people to leave their cars where they are help with snow removal?

Queens.....
First in mediocrity....
First in cultural absence....
First in political corruption...
Last in snow removal!

Let's encourage tourism to Queens.
Look....
I only live here because I can't afford MANHATTAN, so do not blame me.

Great! So where do you suggest people park their cars in the middle of a blizzard?
Or after? Or cars are just important when the city and state need their cut in form of registration, taxes, fines?

Don't worry, very soon you won't be able to afford QUEENS either.

Wake up!
Queens is the Katz litter box!
And she dances to any tune that REBNY plays.
Meow! Meow! Meow!
Sings too!

How about that Christie, huh. "What Do You Want Me To Do Get A Mop & A Bucket".
The media gave him a pass because Trump is more important to cover as a story.
