Juniper Valley bocce courts are a soggy mess

From CBS:

Bocce ball players in Queens say a city redesign ruined their courts at a park in Middle Village.

The Parks Department spent $850,000 to renovate Juniper Valley Park — but the canopies above the courts, which were designed to block out the sun, funnel rainwater onto the courts, creating holes in the playing field and flooding which takes days to dry out.

Someone needs to be fired over this!!!...Damm straight, let's start with the moron who allocated our tax $ for this unnecessary project, Lizzy Crowley.

They probably hired some millennial transplant who designed it with their iphone. Why don't these numb skulls ever talk to the community for input. Sounds like they didn't ask for a canopy.

Imagine that

The Government causes a problem at excessive cost.
A soggy bocce court for almost a million.
Nobody read Trump's "Art of the DEAL".

Then they tell us that they have to fix it
The DO NOT mention that the reason for the fix is their original screw-up.
OBTW, and WE have to pay for the fix!

Do not forget all the electeds at the re-dedication, re-opening ceremony for foto-ops congratulating themselves for what a great job they are doing - WITH YOUR MONEY!
VOTE FOR ME :-)

So how much do you think YOU WILL PAY for the fix?

just because dizzy lizzy graduated from Pratt Institute’s Graduate School of Architecture dont make you an expert on bocce courts
looks like she designed it herself
wonder how much kickback this got her

Why did they build those ugly giant canopies in the first place? Isn't the major reason to go to any park is to enjoy a nice pleasant sunny day?

The only way this taken care of is if hipsters "discovered" bocce. For now it looks like a filthy pigeon tub.

Two years ago the Parks Department spent about $500,000 on a new bocce court in Bowne Park. The bocce players have mostly disappeared and are now replaced by Asians using the courts for morning exercise.

However some ancient boccigalupes are still gambling on card games.

Yeah Well someone will be fired But it won't be Liz, She'll get re-elected by a wide margin. Sheeple will be sheeple...

Shockingly the city managed to screw this up! How somebody has yet to be fired is just another sign at how corrupt this city has gotten.. Thanks Crowley! Another job well done on your watch!

well done, all the dunces are there.

What is more "priceless" is the contractor is going to make another boatload of money to "FIX" it.

AND YOU WILL PAY AGAIN...

Here we go again folks. It's not about corruption it is simply a screw up by government employees who don't give a shit and know they will not be held responsible. THIS WILL NEVER NEVER STOP until everyone understands that we must get rid of almost all government employees. Stuff like this needs to be handled by private, FOR PROFIT CORPORATIONS that wil be held responsible. Otherwise all of this complaining is simply mental masterbation.

Should have asked the people that use it what they needed and they would have done it for free.

You must not be familiar with the area.
The guys played bocce all sumer long.
I know most of them, they are local guys, nothing wrong there.
Yes they play cards, but again not doing anything wrong.
The Asians you are referencing are all over the park especially in the morning.
What is your point?
