No place left to shop

"There's No full service grocery store left in Northeast Queens. With Pathmark and Bay Terrace Waldbaum's sold to Stop 'n Shop and the rest of the Waldbaum's closing, they are not getting deliveries of most items.

They've already all run out of my egg whites and some other items..... The Whitestone Key food also is selling out of several items...

A & P pretty much had a monopoly in the North east part of Queens, at least. I don't know about other areas of Queens or the 5 boros.

Where are we supposed to go, to Los Angeles for groceries? Ha Ha Ha." - anonymous

A lot of these stores have been taken over by Stop and Shop. I am part of the install team that sets up for an outside vendor and the stores are being reset in the coming weeks.

Watch, the price of groceries will go through the roof.

There is a waldbaums on 35 avenue and francis Lewis that is still pretty stocked last time I went into it 4 weeks ago. Maybe that's changed too over the last 4 weeks. You could always learn korean or chinese and go into the h mart and hope that you don't get funny stares while shopping there!

Fresh Direct and Pea Pod....the way of the future.

The Waldbaum's in Howard Beach is going to be a Stop 'n Shop too.

Not to change topics, but the Key Food on Lefferts Blvd in Richmond Hill has new owners.....disaster so far.

Well, at least the mom and pop shops can make a few bucks in the next few weeks...

H-Mart sells eggs and milk, and most other staples, most cheaper than Waldbaum's sold for. Then again, anything is cheaper than Waldbaum's was. Great fresh produce, the meat cuts are sometimes different than what we're used to, but chicken is chicken, shrimp is shrimp. You won't be the only round-eye shopping there, I promise.

Marino's on 163rd and 29th is pretty good.

I heard the Key Food in Whitestone will stay open -- anybody hear anything differently ?

20th Avenue is becoming Shoprite.
Bay Terrace and Farrington/Whitestone Expressway is becoming Stop & Shop.
35th Avenue/Francis Lewis, Horace Harding/Francis Lewis and Glen Oaks are most likely to become Key Food.

There's always Good Fortune in north Flushing. Ya just have to hold your nose.

The Waldbaums on Francis Lewis and 35th should have been shit down years ago. It's a disgrace. Are you for real?!

Strawberry Farm in Flushing, Raspberry Farm in Whitestone.

Isn't Stop N Swap a full supermarket too?

Lets see - Is stop and shop in Little Neck NE Queens? How about Fairway in Douglaston? Is H-Mart a full service? How about Foodtown in Bayside?

No one ever said it was good! They are just saying that they have basic things in there for you to live off of! If that was the only supermarket left in this country, you'd be more than happy to flock to it!

I shop Marino's and New Age market on Northern.
I stopped using Waldbaum's on Frannie Lew years ago.

My arms are outstretched in repentance, so crucify me for overlooking that Pea Pod is Shop and Stop.
Happy now?

Stop & Shop is a better store..just wait & see. FYI there is a shortage all over the country on Liquid eggs and Egg Whites due the Avian Flu
and the killing off of millions of chickens. Haven't you notice the rise in the price of a dozen eggs, Trader Joes's and Key food have the egg whites!

Ummm. No. I'd be happy to eat vegetables that I would grow myself. There is pretty much nothing that could get me to enter that store!

Little Neck? (Stop n Shop). Fairview Douglaston those are a bit far for groceries. And Trader Joes? I don't even know where their nearest one is, its not in this triangle, that's for sure. Does anyone on here remember Bohacks and A&P on Northern, East of Parsons and on Francis Lewis and 47 Av, King Kullen on Northern bet Murray St and (?)152 St and near 192 St. Let's see, am I forgetting any other full sized Grocery stores? That don't exist anymore?

Try PEAPOD. I find it's actually cheaper than my local stores. I shop from the phone app. Easy and a total time saver.
