The money pit has no bottom

From the Daily News:

In April, an obscure quasi-governmental agency called the NYC Technology Development Corp. hired a consultant to map out the implementation of the city’s new municipal ID card.

The firm, Gartner Inc., was awarded a no-bid $350,000 contract to get the controversial ID cards ready to go by the end of the year.

There was only one problem — a year earlier, the city controller had red-flagged Gartner for what he called “questionable spending and dubious timesheets” on another city tech project that had ballooned to $25 million.

What made the Gartner selection even more puzzling was that it mirrors a tactic that led to the notorious CityTime scandal — hiring an outside consultant to make sure an important taxpayer-funded tech job is completed on time and without waste.

this is part of the blaz's vetting zero campaign in doling out contracts for program upgrades.

it just never ends with these people.

Nothing could possibly go wrong with this ID card. This is gonna be great. Amirite?

Cost of taxpayer billions to duh Blaz's buddies, and no one will use or accept this silly crap card for illegals, for any reason. Program will die within two years and the money will be gone and unaccounted for.

The only entities who will accept this card will be the ones required by law to do so.

This card has all the power to persuade me that it names the true identity of the bearer as a Bohack's Supermarket Discount Card issued in 1975.

DeBlasio's progressive policies are going to send us back to the David Dinkins era of failed government and rampant crime. It's a matter of time- probably reach critical mass at the end of his first term or beginning of his second. When "Progressives" speak about the future, they really mean the past. They want us to return to an earlier period when the city was literally going into the tank-- the 70's, 80's and early 90's. They truly believe it was the city's golden era. This mayor (a merged version of Mayor Lindsay and Dinkins) is so delusional about this because he actually believes in this crap. Even the term "Progressive" means the opposite - "Progressive" really means "Regressive",-- the policies of which will make us all poorer, dumber and more dependent. Their policies should have been discredited and designated to the trash heap of history, but the voter always forgets the past.

When Deblasio destroys the city's finances, he will be forced to cut police and other vital city services, and we'll be back to the future in no time.
