This apple didn't fall far from the tree...

Former labor leader's son busted in drug sting
By WILLIAM J. GORTA and KIRSTEN FLEMING, NY Post

The son of imprisoned former labor leader Brian Mclaughlin was arrested in a major drug takedown in Northern Queens today, authorities said.

Robert McLaughlin, 26, of Astoria — whose father is serving 10 years for scamming everyone from local Little Leaguers to his own union members to the tune of $3.1 million — was one of 31 mid level drug dealers arrested after a two-year operation dubbed "Operation Bad Medicine," DA Richard Brown said.

He was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance and faces up nine years if convicted, authorities said.

Police raided eight residential locations throughout Whitestone, Astoria, Long Island City, Bayside and Forest Hills at 6 a.m., yesterday.

Investigators seized a veritable candy shop of high-end prescription painkillers, including xanax, hydrocodone, vicodin, ecstasy and percasets, cops said.

Police also recovered three loaded handguns, two cars, 18 pounds of marijuana and $11,350 in cash, cops said.

McLaughlin and the other suspects are expected to be arraigned tomorrow.

These political dynasties. They either follow their parents to public office, or to penitentiary.

I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Both father and son are a bunch of rotten apples. Hope they throw the book at him. I remember Geraldine Ferraro's son did a similar thing. I guess this is the new standard.

SON OF AN ELECTED OFFICAL:
Most politician's children have no interest in politics. They actually go out of their way to hide the fact their parent is in the public eye.

But the ones who do follow tend to think they are invincible and entitled.

------

Crowleys, Hevasis, Mantons, Seminarios, Vallones, and Weprins

a good example are Shumer's kids who live quiet lives with meager lifestyles.

Keep your analogies to Queens politicians.

Excuse me. It goes way out of bounds of Queens daily and its very evident.

What happened to those ayn rand links that have nothing to do with posts ever?

I'm the moderator. You aren't. You come here, you play by my rules. The nonsense you are posting has nothing whatsoever to do with the subject at hand. It also proves my point that while local morons are distracted by Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Obama, Bush, etc., the local pols are being ignored. If I wanted to read irrelevant finger pointing about these people, I'll open up my local weekly rag and read the letters to the editor.

I agree, every post on every blog seems to devolve into a rant against Obama, Bush, etc. no matter what the topic. It's predictable and tiresome.

To be clear - I am NOT suggesting in any way that the things that were done were against the law, because they were. Laws we're all pretty familiar with were broken. Having said that, I hope one day someone in one of YOUR families makes a mistake. I hope that its well-publicized and that people go on the internet and post about how they are pieces of human garbage and deserve to have the book thrown at them.

To my Anonymous friends - I really admire your balls.
