Thompson supporter calls Quinn a whore

From NY1:

At a Wednesday event hosted by Democratic mayoral candidate William Thompson, the owner of the quaint English-style tea shop Tea and Sympathy in Greenwich Village lashed out at City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, while Thompson was there listening.

"She's a whore and you can quote me on that," said Sean Kavanagh-Dowsett. "I'll call her a whore and I'll drop my trousers, and she can kiss my a--."

The remarks which were recorded by Mayor Michael Bloomberg's campaign, stemmed from a discussion about the problems facing small business owners.

In the audio recording, Thompson is not heard denouncing the remarks by Kavanagh-Dowsett.

"It is impossible to control what other people say in a public forum. But he should have said immediately that this was inappropriate," said Samantha Levine of NARAL. "It's misogynistic language that has no place in a political discourse."

Well why would he do that when it's someone's opinion and also happens to be true?

Here's one definition of "whore" - a venal or unscrupulous person.

Sorry Sam, the description fits Ms. Quinn to a tee.

Maybe next time Sean should call her an asshole instead (also true) to avoid upsetting feminist groups.

Unfortunately for you, Bloomie, most of the city hates Christine Quinn and doesn't give a shit about you being offended by free speech.

She must feel like the biggest loser that there isn't a whole lot of outrage about the comment.

Perhaps not the most delicate way of stating it, but Thompson's guy hit the nail squarely on the head with his description of Quinn. Call 'em as you see 'em. Major kudos to him, as far as I'm concerned. Oh, and might we refer to Bloomie as her pimp?

The only ass she wants to kiss is on the "other team"

Yea, the shoe fits. but it was a stupid thing to say, especially from someone who's trying to close the election gap! sorry, this goes down with the ten stupidest things to say!

So Bloomturd is so paranoid that he now has to send undercover volunteers into Thompson campaign events armed with tape recorders?

"but it was a stupid thing to say, especially from someone who's trying to close the election gap!"

Can you read? Thomson didn't say anything. He's being slammed for not standing up for Quinn.

Why should he? One of Quinn's top people is working on the Bloomberg campaign.

RIGHT ON THOMPSON !
-- If the shoe fits......

Just a reminder:
Obama is likley to sign the hate speech bill H.R. 1592.

Since Quinn and others in that audience may be Lez (as well has Whore's) Under H.R. 1592 Thompson could be arrested and charged with hate speech.

I wouldn't trust her to kiss my ass.

While I'm bent over in pleasant anticipation...she might decide to bite my nuts off with those sharp little teeth of hers...since I'm not one of her close real estate developer friends!

Crooked dyke bitch!

"...Thompson could be arrested and charged with hate speech."

I don't think so, Joe. Whores are not a protected category under hate speech laws. In any case, the speaker didn't mention her sexuality, and Thompson didn't say anything at all.

The last anonymous comment was pretty hateful, though. Do you hate Quinn because she's a corrupt politician, or simply because she's a "dyke"?

Why should anyone apologize for calling 'em as he see 'em?

Since when are the delicate sensitivities of an elected official of any concern to us?

This whore is one of the shits who steamrolled right over the legal and twice stated sensitivities of the taxpayer voters who announced "NO THIRD TERMS" for anybody! At the ballot box! Is there any more sacred place to speak politically than at the ballot box?

And these two whores want to gut our twice voted law! Let them both go shit in their delicately sensitive hates! Or, into each other's for that matter.

This whore must go! Right along with here third term eminent domain land thief pimp Commissar!

Why is plain speaking to be avoided?

This is the same whore who called to police to arrest protesters (using their first amendment rights) who came to protest the whore at a book store.

Of course she's a whore!

Nobody ever needs to apologize for speaking the truth!

Dyke is how Quinn described herself when she was dancing topless in front of St. Patrick's Cathedral back in the 1990s.

C.Q:

"I am very clear that a part of my personality is what some people might call a bitch," she said. "And I am very comfortable with that. I accept it both as a personality asset and as a personality defect. And I think as I've gotten more mature–$500,000 worth of therapy later–I know when to be a bitch and I know when not to be a bitch. I make a conscious decision about when I'm gonna, you know, open up the bitch tap and let the water run. It can be really effective when I need it to. I've gotten through to people who are far more important than me by being, you know, a real bitch to their staff on the telephone."

There's no need to get nasty. Quinn is disliked by many people for many reasons, and mainly it is because she has sold out the voters in favor of her inside deals with Michael Bloomberg (to get into the background of as many photo-ops as possible, more discretionary funds, etc.). I think the reality is that the term whore is harsh. I know that when I can't think of a way to describe my disappointment in somebody, I usually do turn to an obscenity more frequently than I should. That being said, if we offend the other voters who are beginning to question Quinn as a politician, we are going to alienate the voters we need -- to help us vote Quinn out. We need partnership with other voters, not more hostility.
