Daily News publishes lame attack on Avella

Editorial in today's Daily News:

A Queens councilman who hopes to run for mayor next year (Slogan: "The revolution starts ... now!") will have the full-throated support of New York's Quaker parrots.

Awk, Tony!

The greenbirds are rallying behind Tony Avella because he plans to introduce legislation requiring the city to give taxpayer-funded relocation help when a contractor or utility has to disturb a nest.

Awk, Tony, awk!

Native to South America, the parrots found a home here a couple of decades ago. The flock of immigrants has done well. Roosts have disrupted electrical service and construction projects.

Avella would have the city move parrots to farms or to nests on platforms. Parrotnapping would, of course, be outlawed.

Awk, Tony, awk, awk!

If you are a human worried about foreclosure, or a homeowner whose property tax is about to jump, you might want to vote for someone more attuned to your interests.

Awk, Knucklehead!

Wow. First of all this has to be the most childishly written editorial in the history of the Daily News. Second, if they were paying attention, they would have realized that Councilman Tony Avella is one of the only council members who actually fights anything! Funny how the Daily News doesn't seem to have a problem with people here illegally causing problems, but the parrots gotta go. If you are a human worried about eminent domain abuse, term limits extensions, and congestion pricing, don't expect "New York's Hometown Paper" to write an editorial against them. Rather, they'll endorse these backwards Bloombergian concepts wholeheartedly and enlist Barbara Corcoran to give her blessing to your neighbor who wants to pave over his driveway illegally.

On the other hand, the Councilman consistently votes against these things and speaks out against them. Let's hear from Tony himself: Tony Responds to the Daily News

It's so delicious that Mort Zuckerman, owner of the Daily News, was one of the biggest scammed by Bernie Maddow.

A Queens councilwoman who hopes to run for mayor next year (Slogan: "The revolution starts ... now!") will have the full-throated support of New York's developers.

Awk, Melinda!

The greenbacks are rallying behind Melinda Katz because she plans to introduce legislation requiring the city to give taxpayer-funded tax breaks to developers who want to disturb a block.

Awk, Melinda, awk!

Loves natives from South America, or just about anywhere else where people are not familiar with good governemnt, the tweeded found a home here a couple of decades ago. The flock of immigrants has done well. Roosts have disrupted infrastructure and communities

Melinda would have the city move tweeded to barracks and human warehouses. Deporting would, of course, be outlawed.

Awk, Melinda, awk, awk!

If you are a human worried about developers, or a homeowner whose property is about to jump into the toilet with the 12 story monster in your backyard, you might want to vote for someone more attuned to your interests.

Awk, Knucklehead!

I thought Katz was running for comptroller.

The Daily News, a once great publication. I began reading it as a child in the late fifties and I cannot belive how it has floundered so badly in recent years.
Who does it represent? Certainly not the average New Yorker. It won't be long now. Fade away already like all the other propaganda sheets. The "Voice of the People" is now here at QC and free blogs like it. Drink up fellas.

To the Daily Snooze, these parrots represent deadly competition.

The Snooze wants to parrot all the tripe from the Commissar and his lackeys, as well as the tripe from Lickety Split Quinn and the toadies who parrot her vote, just as she parrots the Commissar's plans.

That's why the Snooze is only good for lining parrot cages.

This incestuous press-release distributor has gone so far that it is now impossible for it to become honest. So it wants to eliminate the genuine parrots as well as their compassionate defender, Avella.

It ignores the Blogs at its own peril.
