33 poodles taken from Queens home

Animal rescuers were called to a Queens home yesterday and found its elderly owners sharing the two-bedroom house with their pet poodles - all 33 of them.

HOUSE GONE TO THE DOGS - 33 OF 'EM

The rescue operation was launched after a social worker visiting the dogs' owners alerted the ASPCA.

The couple, whose names were not revealed, are not facing criminal charges.

The dogs, the youngest of which is only 2 months old, were taken from the home to the ASPCA's adoption center on East 92nd Street.

For most of the pooches, it was thought to have been their first trip outside.

The dogs were being groomed and given care at the center before being put up for adoption, said Cardona. She said the chances of finding homes were very good. "They're tiny little things, and people in New York like little dogs," she said.

The ASPCA is planning to return one of the poodles to its original owners to keep as a pet.

Federation of Teachers favorite voters. Keep Gary and Toby in power. Teachers only like students as gullible as poodles anyway.

Animal hoarders are notorious recidivists. They will probably start 'collecting' again soon, sadly....

This happens way too much in Queens.Lots of dogs need saving in shelters from the streets or bad situations, but theres people walking around with their animals unfixed. Thanks to the hard work of the ASPCA these dogs will have a better life.

I hate to see animals mistreated. I have a cat that we rescued from an animal shelter and he's a great joy to us. I don't know how anyone could have left him there.

It's the owners who need to be sheltered - from there own "compassion" (stupidity).

The couple were breeders. These were not pets that were going around unneutered. The dogs were not fixed, because they were used to breed.

They probably will not start hoarding animals again. They only became hoarders after they lost control of the dog population. This is most likely due to their age.
