Tree trimming party at PS49

Looks like the holidays came a little early to Middle Village...

The 20 or more trees [at PS49 at 80th Street and Juniper Blvd South] were expeditiously cut down on Friday, November 2nd by the School Construction Authority, even though the SCA assured a Community Board member just days earlier that the trees would not be harmed.
A new school addition is being built in the parking lot.
There is nothing left of the triangle of trees now except stumps and a pile of wood shavings.

Christina Wilkinson
Secretary
Juniper Park Civic Association

As you can see, the Bloomberg 2030 tree initiative also extends to school property.

The lot seems to be irregularly shaped so you have to wonder if construction of the new school will even be extended out to that area.

I'm starting to think that the city has a secret lumber company somewhere.

No, I think that the city has a contract with a paper manufacturer.

student: "Say teach, what happened to all of the trees by the school?"

teacher: "Never mind that; we've got a lesson to attend to. Now then where were we? Ah, yes, we were discussing global warming . . ."

It's so bad, I thought it was a joke. Is this Bloomberg's way of getting back at the JPCA?

Brilliant on that image of the mayor.

Crappie be da man!!

Hilarious Photo. For all this BS talk the city gov does about planting trees, the proof of their intention is certainly in their actions.

Where's Dennis Gallagher?

Oh-ho! The joke's on me. I just took a second look at the picture and realized it's Bloomie! Well, I guess this helps prove what you've been saying for a long time: that he's obviously not a man of great "vision."

In the Cohen brothers' movie "Fargo"......
somebody gets shoved into a wood chipper.

Nah.....
don't you go worrying now Mayor Mike & Co......
that was just meant as a "sick" joke.

if Bloomberg fell in the wood chipper who is to say that 1000's of miniature Bloombergs wouldn't pop out of the machine. As if one of him wasn't troublesome enough to deal with.

(just another sick joke) ;)

I actually have figured out Bloomberg

Lets face it - what was he? A CEO, and he ran on the promise to "run the city like a business"

In a company, everyone answers to the CEO - his word is final, and everyone works for him

He's just holding to his promise - he's running the city like a business, and we all work for HIM - at least that's what he thinks

I'm paying $3.14 a gallon for #2 heating oil
just to keep my house warm in the winter
(with the thermostat frugally set at 65 degrees) .

Do you suppose that I
can, at least, get some free firewood
to offset the drain
on this senior citizen's fixed income?

G-d damn pigs....
cutting down nature's beauty
for profit.

Gallagher's legacy:
RAPE.....PILLAGE.....ARBORICIDE !
