Hollis house on a hill

No, you haven't died and gone to stucco hell.
You're at 191-03 Foothill Avenue in an area of Hollis that has gone down the McMansion path. This is one of the more garish ones.
Even Fido is speechless...

Hollis Horror Homeowner:
"Now that I've bought this darling McMansion, which puts every other house on the block to shame, I'd better go out and purchase a dog, with fur that matches the color of the stucco."

Maybe they stuccoed the house to match the dog instead!

...or did they stucco the dog?!

Its funny how morons like this get away with anything they want.

In some communities there are restrictions on what you can put in the front yard - old cars, chickens and the like.

This is what they did. This is the NY equivalent to a pile of old matresses in the front yard. Where are the rights of the community? Where is city council?

That's actually not so bad compared to some of the other horror houses out there.

The only thing missing from the photo is a Hummer (civilian tank) in the driveway.

I'd live there.

the dog's dog house probably has more charm, granted it has a dog house and the McMansion homeowner didn't build right up to the back of their property line, which is likely.

That house is nothing take a drive around Holliswood around that area that house is like really small it just sticks it because it's on a hill

All of you bloggers are right; its absolutely unconscionable that someone can build what they want on their own property.

Personally, I don’t find the act of taking pictures of someone’s home creepy at all. And I certainly don’t think there is anything even remotely odd about following it up by posting the pics on a website and discussing them.

We should keep rolling strong on this route and ban dancing, pop music, and profanity too!

Just remember…don’t break our cover of “concerned homeowners” and let any of “them” know we are really racist and jealous how successful they are!

Cheerio!

Stucco-catzo....... mamma mia!

From an old Amos 'n Andy 1950s TV show
of pre-political correctness days:

George Kingfish Stevens schemes
to sell a bogus house to an unsuspecting dupe,
friend and prospective buyer Andy.

Andy asks George what's it made of
and the Kingfish answers,

"It's stucco....and you is da stuckee"!

You've just accurately described what your favorite blogs, Curbed and Brownstoner do. Congratulations.

translation: As soon as I post this asinine comment I'm hightailing it out of here cause I'm too much of a wuss to stick around and hear what people have to say in response.

Looks like the stronghold
of some colonial Guyanese military ruler
or Central American drug-lord
or something of that nature.
