Parking cleanup in Jamaica

The Untouchables are on the prowl. That is exactly what is needed to deal with the serial lawbreakers. Those who park their vehicles on our streets illegally. Some of the vehicles have no plates, others have plates belonging to another vehicles and others share plates, one per vehicle.

Well, on Saturday Dec. 2. The Untouchables made a clean sweep on 171 st. Street near 108 Avenue. Armed with tow trucks, the Untouchables carted away a few vehicles.

Well one of the owners showed up with a few followers and they were furious: waving their hands, shouting to the air and just swearing. However, it was toooo late, he just had to watch while the vehicles were: chained, mounted and en-routed to legal grounds.

This morning I witnessed another episode further down on 171 st. Street. The tow truck was on hand to remove another vehicle.

So go ahead law breakers; The Untouchables are very accommodating, and the community is very happy.

Bank lobby is home to homeless

"The homeless are now banking at Carver Saving Bank to shelter them from the coldness. This is yet another health hazard in the black neighbourhood. Blacks face all sorts of suffering at the hands of black political bandits, aka political leaders.

They ignore every form of suffering perpetrated against black people. Now homeless occupants are using the ATM area as their quarters at nights; when the bank is closed. After, hearing much complaints, I tried using the ATM myself last week. The bank is located at 159-02 Archer Avenue, Jamaica Queens, near the e-train station.

The experience was stink and scary; two homeless persons were present. One was wrapped in a blanket; with his or her back turned away from the ATM. The other was sitting up straight with his head covered. His eyes were darting, then staring directly at me. The atmosphere was shitty."

"The quality-of-life abuse seems to be non-stop. Hopefully, these political bandits would come to a tragic end; by means of prison or what ever else; they are useless. Yes, Blacks live in hell. Keep wondering why Trump is our president?

Depression and unemployment in the black neighbourhood are at an all time high. Yet, Borough President, Katz claims that she is building on her success. Sadly, blacks cannot count on black leaders; who have recluse them self from the plight. Worst yet, the Blacks keep voting for the public bandits.

I called Carver today at (718)230-2900. After a few transfers; I spoke to Mr. Williams/ manager. He said that he will contact the appropriate person to resolve the problem. I asked him to please remove the homeless encampment. It is unsafe and unhealthy."

Auto body shops are trashing Merrick Blvd

"A drive along Merrick Boulevard from Jamaica Avenue all the way to the Long Island Border on Friday, September 9th around 6pm showed a complete lack of enforcement when it comes to illegal parking of cars (smashed & unlicensed) by auto body shops on streets and blocking sidewalks and illegal parking of huge tractor trailers. I counted at least 100 cars in various condition and about 20 large tractor trailer trucks parked on Merrick Blvd. This has been an issue that neither NYPD is properly addressing nor community board 12 and the local elected officials of that area (Senator Comrie, Councilman Miller, Congressman Meeks, Assembly Member Alicia Hyndman), ALL, who are aware of this blatant illegal activity that has turned Merrick Blvd into the new Willet's Point, except Willets's Point did not have people living right in the middle of it. The area between Archer Ave and 110th are the worst but that entire stretch of Merrick is completely awful.

I have heard with some of the local debates how the community has not been represented properly for decades by the Jamaica elected officials and this is a perfect example and even those running against incumbents (Vanel, Adams) HAVE NOT brought up the issue of these types of quality of life issues that are an eyesore in the community and make it look like shit, besides the fact that these issues are totally illegal. I have been in this community for almost 6 years and have seen this issue go from bad to worse, yesterday being some of the worst I have seen, since I have not been on that stretch for some time.

Ms. Katz, Jamaica is in Queens and you are always talking so highly (and untruthfully) about Jamaica, yet you nor any of the local elected officials, community board 12 and so-called activist like Adrienne Adams and some of the other so-called activist in this community (well, that is what they call themselves) have yet to put pressure on this issue or the many other blatant ones (take a look at the huge illegal garbage dumping going on right next to the C-Town market that sits off of Merrick by the Auto Zone) that go unaddressed that you certainly would not see in Katz's neighborhood of Forest Hills.

As usual this shows a complete lack of respect to a predominately black community by elected officials such as Katz, Comrie, Miller, Hyndman, community board 12, Rev. Flake and his crew, the so-called "church leaders" and these so-called activist they say they are activist.

But yet myself and Pamela Hazel have been the only ones to continually document, report, file complaints and bring up these same issues over and over again with pretty much zero results from the powers that be and those that should uphold the laws.

What I saw on Merrick Boulevard on Friday September 9th was utterly appalling and no community should have to tolerate this and all the other quality of life issues not being addressed in the Jamaica community.

There are no need for photos (which I have taken of this area for years on this issue), since ALL of YOU are completely aware of this but instead have chosen inaction. But to refresh your memory:

And when residents in this community do not stand up for what is right, as the people in Maspeth did when a Holiday Inn was to be turned into yet another dump homeless shelter then you all get the community you deserve, but elected officials are to be the voice of the community and show leadership skills and none of you have shown that including many of the new candidates running for office. AND by that way, it is not that difficult to solve this simple problem that is going on Merrick Blvd, the problem is inactivity by elected officials and properer enforcement of laws on the books. And having a news reporter come on to do some quickie story in the paper or a 1 minute segment on TV does NOTHING if there is not constant follow-up on this issue by the powers that be. The media SHOULD be doing hard reporting on WHY this issue has been going on for so long, why the laws are NOT being enforced and why there is little response from elected officials. You are all to blame for the conditions in Jamaica along with many of the residents and businesses that show complete lack of respect or any pride in this community, but bottom line, LEADERSHIP is needed, GOOD LEADERSHIP, which to this date has been very rare for the most part, with the exception of Senator Tony Avella, but this matter does not fall in his district, that is YOU, Leroy Comrie, YOU, I. Daneek Miller, YOU, Alicia Hyndman and YOU BIG CHEESE, Melinda Katz. Just more TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION.

NONE of this would be tolerated in a predominately white area and you all know this.

Now I am sure I will not hear from any of the powers that be since Pamela Hazel and myself know that this is the standard status quo response, which is NOTHING even though the elected officials work for US and we pay your over-bloated salaries for what amounts to part-time jobs of having photos taken for street naming ceremonies or other non-essential issues in the community which gives the illusion that you care and do actually work, just not on major issues that need addressed on the local level."

Sanitation finally tackles dumping site in Jamaica

"This morning (April 1) bright and early, a supporter alerted me that a sanitation truck was circling around James Fobb's property. I arrived at the site a few minutes before 7:00 a.m. The sanitation truck was positioning into the garbage strewn garage.

Employees began placing the garbage into the truck. I asked one employee, Mr. S. about finding a solution to this constant problem. He said, "they should put a gate, a fence, something, but I do not make the rules." He went on to say that yesterday they began cleaning, but there was an interruption; there were an abundance of syringes. He said that according to policy some one had to do an analysis. That is the reason they returned today to complete the job.

Some employees continued to pile garbage into the truck. Another employee was in the process of removing a filthy mattress that was leaning against Fobb's house; when suddenly a young man emerged from behind the mattress; another interruption.The man appeared startled. I asked him why he was behind the mattress. He replied, "I was taking a piss".

However, a near-by resident/supporter said, "He is lying, he always sleeps behind that mattress. He was there last night."

A D.O.S supervisor arrived at the seen to assess the situation, but the pisser or sleeper had long gone. So the job was completed.

I initiated a conversation with another employee; who said "the powers should come up with a solution."

Some residents said that they are fed-up of the fiasco. They believe that the garage was deliberately left filthy to embarrass the black community. One echoed, why they did not clean this disaster before Easter.

After, listening to angry residents and understandably so; I left the scene to prepare to go to work.

Boranian, these episodes have gone on for too long. Fobb could be dead, who knows. The last we heard, he was in a facility. That information came from your former colleague, Mr. Lamura; he retired about two years ago.

Boranian, please fine a way to install a fence, and bring this issue to a close. If there are legal deterrents, then please provide funds to CleanupJamaica. We do not care about being legally correct."

Katz called out at her own speech

At Thursdays “State of the Borough” by Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, a reader of my blog who was at the event, wrote a comment “When she (Katz) went on and on, some female voice in the audience cried out “When are you going to mention Jamaica”. Right away, I said, has to be friend and comrade-in-arms, Pamela Hazel, since I knew she was going to be in attendance.

My comrade-in-arms, Jamaica resident and community activist Pamela Hazel, is a force to reckon with when it comes to elected officials ignoring and not addressing Jamaica’s quality of life issues, I should know, I have worked with her on several issues over the years. Now Queens Borough President, Melinda Katz, felt that force on Thursday, January 21st at her bullshit “State of the Borough” address, where Ms. Hazel interrupted Katz’s bullshit and hollow speech on Queens, not once but two times on her ignoring Jamaica’s issues.

Considering that the audience was filled with Katz's lackeys and assorted asshole elected officials, here was a fresh dose of reality thrown at Katz and the audience. I am sure she had no idea what hit her since she was expecting accolades from many of the assholes in attendance.

And then there's this tidbit:

Taking matters into their own hands

Fathers Day weekend and yet another Saturday where Jamaica residents who are fed up with inaction by local elected officials (like Senator Leroy Comrie) and unanswered calls by Queens Borough President Melinda Katz and staff, take matters in their own hands and take over the abandoned park/empty lot at 109th Ave & 171st Street in Jamaica, which has become an eyesore of overgrown weeds, garbage, broken down rusted playground equipment, remnants of what were once benches in the first phase of cleaning up this lot which is owned by a real estate company David Landau-Crown Realty of Brooklyn, who refuses to take care of this property.

So Jamaica resident & community advocate Pamela Hazel along with other activists like Gene Sassine, Larry Love, Lyle Braxton, a man who goes by OK and a couple other residents took matters into their own hands and did the first phase of this cleanup by cutting weeds and branches that are going out into the sidewalk. Other clean-up phases will follow.

Jamaica sty property finally cleaned

"Last week, the month's long stinking fiasco finally ended. The sanitation department cleaned James Fobb's sty. It took two visits for D.O.S to remove the volume of garbage mixed with furniture. It was also done after the Easter holidays.

Nonetheless, thanks to staff member, Andy from Councilman Miller's office. Andy took the time to visit the site with me a few Sundays ago. He said, "This place is worse than I thought."

Unfortunately, this fiasco will happen over and over again because the CHRONIC PROMISER, Borough President/Melinda Katz, is ONLY making awarding winning speeches. She and her staff are preoccupied with speeches, meetings and conferences.

Meanwhile, the primitive inhabitants will strike again. Soon they will discard of their furnishings, kitchen and other household garbage, at Fobb's site again.

The primitive inhabitants are confident that no one will bother them. They are sure that Katz will be on her next speech assignment. Therefore, she will have no time for law-enforcement.

During her campaign, she claimed to be a fixer; that will resolve issues from day ONE. Well, ONE YEAR has past. She has done very little.

Residents know that Joe & I are responsible for most of the clean-up in Jamaica. We will not allow the CHRONIC PROMISER to take credit for our hard work.

WE will hold KATZ, the CHRONIC PROMISER accountable because it is her damn job to deliver services. It is her damn job to bring agencies together to deliver services.

So far, she has delivered motivational speeches and no resolution.

As for the CHRONIC EXCUSE-MAKERS, Ms. Velazquez/ counsel and Ms. Boranian/liaison; at the B/P's office. Do your damn job. Make yourself available to receive residents' calls.

Other issues that need attention: the speeding, noise making trucks. The park at 109 & Merrick. The half done paint at the trestle and the dungeon bus stop.

No, you will NOT be allowed to sweep these issues under the rug, while voters are suffering.

NYPD tickets passengers escaping bum stink

A familiar scene, riders wait on the platform at the first Jamaica Center Station anticipating seats. Then bam, in and out; like a dusty blue bell. Riders trying to escape danger to their health from bums; they passed through the train cars in search of clean air.

But as they bolted through the train cars, they encountered police officers. Each rider was extracted from the train by the police; and given a ticket.

The police officers are quite aware of the routine; so they were armed and ready with their ticket booklet. Ironically, passing through the cars is illegal; it is meant to keep riders safe.

However, it is legal for riders to inhale germs. A deliberate effort to make people sick. Anyone has a better logical conclusion?

Train cars # 9230 & 9231 & 9232 were emitting a strong scent, so naturally riders tried to escape. Meanwhile, riders had to stand in packed cars while the bums occupied most of the seats. Not only with their bodies, but with their sickening scent. - Pamela Hazel

Boy, does this city have everything ass backwards, low-life folks and elected officials get away with everything and upstanding citizens get a big F*CK YOU up the ass without lube.

Here in Jamaica, we cannot get proper enforcement of dangerous illegal truck driving on residential streets, we cannot get a crackdown on illegal conversions, we cannot get enforcement on illegal curb cuts, we cannot get any help on the major garbage problem and the homeless have turned our subway cars and Jamaica Center Station into a roach motel, but NYPD takes the time to give tickets to law abiding citizens, including elderly woman and people going to work who are just trying to escape the deadly fumes and bugs from the bottom barrel cave dwellers, people who made bad career choices in their lives.

Majorly F*CKED UP NYPD and normally I side with you, not this time.

And where the hell are you Katz, Comrie, Miller, Wills and the other assorted do nothing political welfare cases. Oh, wait, Wills is prepping for his eventual trial on corruption charges and Comrie is just being Comrie, which is smiling for a camera while bullshit flies out of the side of his mouth and collecting tax payers money. - Joe Moretti
