A leader of the Greater New York chapter of Black Lives Matter says Democratic New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is targeting Black people with his mandate requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination to enter certain businesses in the city, and warned that continuation of the dictate could spark an "uprising" similar to last year's George Floyd protests.

The threat comes from chapter co-founder Chivona Newsome, who unleashed on city leaders during a demonstration earlier this week outside a restaurant that allegedly denied service to a group of Black would-be patrons.

"Seventy-two percent of Black people in this city from ages 18 to 44 are unvaccinated," Newsome shouted into a megaphone. 

 "So what is going to stop the Gestapo, I mean the NYPD, from rounding up Black people, from snatching them off the train, snatching Black people off the bus?" she added.

"We’re putting this city on notice. Your mandate will not be another racist social distance practice," Newsome went on to say. "Black people are not going to stand by, or you will see another uprising. And that is not a threat. That is a promise. Because it is our job to defend liberty, and that is what we are here to do."

The mandate, announced by de Blasio in early August, requires that both workers and customers of certain categories of businesses like restaurants, gyms, and movie theaters provide proof that they have been vaccinated against the coronavirus in order to enter.

But since the rule went into effect, there have been reports of disputes at several establishments, which have also been burdened with manning the front lines of its enforcement.   

 Besides the other outlandish claims this duo is making, the NYPD is not tasked with enforcing the fascist and discriminatory vaccine mandate. Yet.

In a few weeks, New York City (and other American cities) will be recognizing the one year anniversary of the extrajudicial murder of George Floyd committed by Officer Derek Chauvin and also the start of the Black Lives Matter mass protest demonstrations that followed it.

Which brings up Mayor de Blasio’s feeble recognition of that momentous tragedy and other preventable deaths at the hands of overzealous police based on the race of the victims. Inspired by Mayor Muriel Browser, who ordered a mural of the movement’s universal political slogan on a street in Washington D.C, the Blaz decided to sextuple down on Browser’s tribute and painted 6 murals on the 5 boroughs. The one placed on the world’s borough of Queens was on Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica, right in front of the landmark Rufus King house and park.

A Black Lives Matter march through Midtown Manhattan turned violent Friday night, with 11 protesters arrested.

The NYPD reported that two officers suffered minor injuries during the protest, which was attended by about 100 marchers; officials could not immediately say how the cops were hurt.

At least some of those arrested were accused of attacking Daily News photographer Sam Costanza at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and 54th Street in the mistaken belief that he was a cop, sources said.

About a dozen people surrounded the photog, shoving him and beating him with their fists and other objects, sources said.

The NYPD confirmed the attack, telling The Post “a member of the media” was assaulted, and police made “a number of arrests.”

The photographer, who suffered a bloody nose, was not seriously injured and declined medical attention, police said.

BLM retreats upon the singing of the National Anthem

Yesterday, the Ridgewood Tenants Union, under the banner of BLM, met at the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst and then proceeded to march through Middle Village to scream at the people of that neighborhood, and Council Member Robert Holden in particular, that they were racist for supporting the NYPD and opposing a shelter that has been a shitshow from the get-go (and that RTU opposes).

RTU vehemently denied that their members were from outside the Maspeth-Middle Village-Glendale-Ridgewood area, yet met at a train station in Elmhurst - which is geographically on the opposite side of Midville, because that makes sense. After dilly-dallying for an hour hoping that reinforcements would show up, the group that dubbed itself "small but mighty" headed to their target - Holden's house - banging drums and chanting unintelligible phrases.

Hilarity ensued:
After scurrying away, the 90% white gentrifier crowd proceeded to the Metropolitan Avenue train station, which is odd since they allege to have so many members in Maspeth, Middle Village and Glendale who would not require a subway ride in order to return home.

I really don't think newspaper reporters are supposed to "respectfully disagree" with interviewees, but there you have it. So, let me explain how the Queens BLM people work, and why there is confusion about who did what...

The Queens groups coordinate with each other and promote each other's events. So, one group puts it out there and the others recruit their own members to attend. They also promote them via the centralized BLM Instagram account for greater exposure.

Case in point: the dopey Ed Mullins mistaken identity/flag burning party was technically promoted under Bayside BLM (the evidence of which they have since deleted), but it was mostly attended by other groups. In fact, it met at the Jefferson Street station, which is weird for a march led by a Bayside contingent but quite convenient for RTU members who wanted to participate.

Now, considering there are multiple groups involved, there should be a HUGE turnout for these events. But the most they have ever scraped together is a few dozen people. And it's mostly the same people at each event.

You'll also notice the language in the screenshot above endorsing flag burning. These folks are anarchists, not activists. Please don't be fooled. The language they use on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook is about destroying the government and causing chaos. And guess who stands with them?

Something both disturbing and hilariously stupid went down last night, which means it belongs on this blog.

So, Bayside BLM put out a call to its brainwashed to gather in Bushwick to protest "police unions and Q anon". Right off the bat you know this is going to head in the wrong direction. And it literally did!

The fearless black clad chanters marched their outraged tuchuses to Maspeth, to protest outside the home of Ed Mullins, the President of the NYC Sergeants' Benevolent Association:

BLM then continued their march, and when they came to a patriotic block where homeowners were proudly displaying Old Glory, they stole the flags.

They then proceeded to the town square, where a 9/11 memorial stands, to carry on with the hissy fit. (FYI: Holden's family doesn't look very white. The Sunnyside protest was organized by the 108th Pct Community Council. Holden demanded that the Glendale shelter be closed. There currently isn't one in Maspeth. But why let facts get in the way when you've come this far on a Wrong Way Corrigan mission?)

Holden's opponent, meanwhile, was cheering them on from the sidelines.

A quick Google search found Mullins' bio, which reveals the following:

He and his wife Angela a former NYPD detective, have twin sons and reside in Nassau County...He is a member of the Board of Directors for Building Bridges of Long Island, Mercy College School of Business and the National Football League Players Alumni Association where he serves as Treasurer; he has served as a volunteer firefighter in Nassau County, head coach of the men’s ice hockey team at New York University and is a member of the American College Hockey Coaches Association, the Amateur Hockey Coaches Association, USA Hockey and the National Association of Fitness Professionals. In addition to coaching at the collegiate level he continues to dedicate countless hours to youth hockey in the Long Island Amateur Hockey League in New York.

So, they were not just at the wrong house or in the wrong neighborhood. They weren't even in the right county! I guess the fact that the long time president of a police union is not likely to live in a mixed use industrial-residential section of Queens didn't dawn on these geniuses. They also didn't even have the correct union boss on their flyer...

BLM tried to drown out Sunnyside pro-cop rally...and failed.

Regarding the 108th Precinct Community Council's support rally this past Saturday.

The opposing rally will meet at John Vincent Daniels Jr. Square in Woodside at 10 a.m. and walk towards 39th Street and Greenpoint Avenue.

The group expects to arrive just before a scheduled pro-police march kicks off from the spot at 11 a.m.

The counter-protesters said they will form a single-file line in front of the pro-police marchers but will step aside once their march starts, according to organizer Grace Frutos.

“They think that we are against police and that we want to hurt them and that’s just not the case,” Frutos said.

“We do not intend to engage with them and the majority of our protest will be done in silence,” she said.

This behavior was so disturbing to the Sunnyside Post that they wrote an editorial about it.

You all live in America where our mantra is, "I may disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." No one bothers BLM when they hold an event. They could at least show the people they disagree with the same courtesy.

...in Astoria, two men held up and robbed a gas station at gunpoint, grabbing $450 from the register and the cashier's cellphone. One of the thieves was wearing a Black Lives Matter t-shirt and BLM cap. This not only shows how he denigrated the social justice movement with his criminal act, but also sadly showed how the movement's slogan has been reduced and devolved into a commercial brand.

DeBlasio & Council screw community out of better police protection

Residents of Southeast Queens thought 40 years of advocacy and hard work had come to fruition in July 2017 when Mayor de Blasio joined them along with NYPD brass and elected officials in Rosedale, next to the land that was finally going to become the NYPD’s new 116th Precinct.

But with a stroke of his pen, de Blasio transferred the $92 million in capital funding to other projects, including a community center in Roy Wilkins Park in St. Albans.

NYPD critics, including those on the City Council, had advertised that they were looking to cut $1 billion from the NYPD’s operating budget, and much of that was switched to other departments for social service programs.

The NYPD last week told the Chronicle that it was committed to fulfilling its promise to the residents of Southeast Queens.

But the mayor and Council also agreed on more than $530 million in cuts to the NYPD’s capital budget, and the 116th Precinct proved to be too tempting a target.

And one of the most ardent proponents of police reform on the Council — Public Safety Committee Chairman Donovan Richards (D-Laurelton) — also was the biggest supporter of the precinct in City Hall.

“I voted against the budget,” Richards told the Chronicle in an interview.

A hard rain's gonna fall...

A march to support New York’s besieged Police Department ended with an angry confrontation last Sunday night between pro-cop demonstrators and a group of Black Lives Matter activists.

The march, which ended at Juniper Valley Park in Middle Village, looked like a repeat of a similar, peaceful walk earlier in the week — a display of solidarity with cops who have been the target of mass demonstrations in New York and around the country following the death of George Floyd at the hands of a police officer May 25 in Minneapolis.

But as the approximately 60 marchers entered the park after a mile-and-a-half walk through the neighborhood and along Metropolitan Avenue, they were met by about 20 counterprotesters. The counterprotesters carried signs calling for the defunding of the Police Department and accusing the NYPD of protecting “bad cops” on the force.

Heated words were exchanged and the two groups flipped middle fingers at each other, but there was no physical altercation.

“I saw the BLM people walking towards us” at the end of the march, said Phil Wong, one of the organizers of the pro-cop walks. “They were clearly there to start an exchange.”

Police who had been accompanying the march in order to control traffic and keep the walk orderly quickly rushed from the edges of the park when they saw the confrontation shaping up. The cops stationed themselves between the groups, working to calm the potentially serious situation. The two groups exchanged chants. “Black lives matter” drew a response of “All lives matter” from the pro-cop marchers.

No arrests were made.

The weather put a damper on the confrontation. A sudden, heavy downpour sent both groups scurrying out of the park after about 15 minutes. A handful of die-hards remained in the park to hash out their differences in the soaking rain.
