A well written and strongly worded letter containing all the truths that the BQXers don't want to admit. Sadly, i have a feeling it will fall on deaf ears or illiterate eyes as what the community wants and desires is secondary or tertiary to what the real estate developers want in Mayor Dumblasio's NYC.
The BQX offers incredible opportunities for graft. Imagine how valuable a stop in front of your business or mega condo is worth? An old bus line? Not so much.
They didn't mention the problems these obsolete fixed-route schemes cause for infrastructure maintenance and expansion.
Every time the street must be dug up, the trolley will be replaced for a portion of it's route with buses. passengers will have to leave the trolley-board-bus-leave-bus-reboard-trolley.
That already happens with the subways when track work is required.
And then the issue of where you board this ridiculous thing. Trolleys don't "curb" -you meet it out in the blacktop. A PITA for regular riders and a disaster for wheelchair or other mobility-challenged people.
Kill this stupid idea -KILL IT, DEAD.
It is just an enhancement for property holders and landlords at the public's expense.
