147th Street and Delaware Avenue, Flushing
NY Post. City Demands Landlord Pay.
"Amazing isn't it, the inconsistency and selectivity by this mayoral agency in pursuing who damages and harms public street trees, who gets fined for those damages and the "special groups" like developers here in Queens that astonishingly get away with their nefarious tree damaging behavior without any noticeable summonsing or jail time - even when New York's Greenest have been alerted about it." - anonymous

Department of Finance -- Block 5401 Lot 12 seems to be paying taxes. Lot 13 might not be. Lot is zoned R3-2 and was subdivided into two tax lots (one Zoning Lot).
And as to the state of preservation in Queens, Avella has proposed this to QCC (among many others):
1531/2018 Legislation would allow the creation of architectural districts throughout NYC that would allow communities to preserve the architectural quality of a neighborhood without obligating the homeowner to abide by rigid regulations found under landmark and special district designations.
Manhattan and Brooklyn would roll their eyes up on this - except that they have to deal with the voting block like a millstone around their necks that the Queens voter gives them.
Again, not liberal progressive. I mean do you think we can actually live on this planet without grass, trees, etc. Did anyone pay attention in grade school or middle school science class.
AND what was the purpose of removing all those trees and grass to build this piece of third world shit. It still could have been built without tearing down nature. AND what happened to the law that will into effect several years ago, that a certain part of property had to have green.
As long as the city agencies turn an ignorant eye there's nothing that can be done by anyone who cares. Its cancer in this borough that keeps growing. Very sad situation.
Picture A- Lots of nice greenery with big trees.
Picture B- Significantly less greenery. Depressing.
Picture C- Shocking transformation. Even more depressing.
Picture D- Complete absence of greenery. All cement and stone. Like the middle east.
More asian crap.... They always seem to find a way to ruin every nice block. Wonder how many families they stuck in there? My guess would be 6-8 different units... Many some families and singles living in one unit together. Maybe 30 people living there altogether.
This is truly amazing. It demonstrates over time what we've been saying for years. I hope everyone tweets and posts this wherever they can....

Stop being so damn defeatist - the problem here is that the public is always shot down - and that garbage the Avella is proposing to the old guys at Queens Civic is example #1 of what is wrong with Queens. That line above was likely written by a hack for a politician.
Everyone has been fed that garbage, and even worse, they have actually believe that garbage.
The people of Queens have been brainwashed! YOU have the power! And it scares the crap out of the politicians once you wake up!
Seeing things like this, and hearing the stuff that people like Avella and Vallone say and do, tells us the everyone in Queens has - and will continue - to betray you until you have had enough and rise up to do something. Stop being dependent on the politicians!!!
Real Americans don't put up with this crap over and over and over again. How many years on Queens Crap do we see the same things, say the same things, and the next day repeat the cycle?
DO SOMETHING DAMMIT!
I think the local community should ask their elected officials - all the way up to Crowley, to show up at this corner and swear that they are going do to something to stop this.
Be public in your request with ads in local papers that showcase your letter to them by name.
Note that two complaints were filed on September 1, 2017 and only one of those was inspected. Now, any logical person would know that the inspector should inspect all complaints on a building at one time and not return later for the other complaint. Yes??!
Well, no. Not at the DOB.
Note that the uninspected complaint has to do with the pavement of the property.

Your tax dollars at work and QOL laws ignored.
Wow. A picture is worth a thousand words. For an Administration did seemingly care so much about planting more green spaces they certainly were happy to allow a whole section of trees to be cut down behind my house.
Stop with the racism. It serves no purpose.
I can point you to many blocks of white people with hideous homes.

If you go to Google street view, you can count eight gas meters and nine electric meters on that building- suggesting that there that are eight tenants sharing what used to be a single (maybe two) family home. How is the inside subdivided? Aesthetics aside, does it violate fire codes? All that additional wastewater from extra showers and toilets....more cars...on a piece of land that used to support only one or two households. And the infrastructure is still the same. This kind of growth is not sustainable!
Wow, that building is genuinely ugly, just a big box and a smaller box. The only saving grave is that it's brick and not siding. Why would they get rid of the trees and greenery? It's like they wanted to highlight how hideous it is.
Many people no like cut grass and sweep this kind of messy trees
Insurance company also no like make cost more money
I am familiar with this corner right near flushing hospital. The first floor is supposed to be commercial space. Those pavers replace a dirt patch, with homeowners/tenants maybe snagging up some illegal sidewalk parking.
For the poster of this pic can look at the mega structure being built next to the ywca? Just 2 blocks from here.
You can see this "Queens Crap" everwhere south of Northern Blvd from Main St to Little Neck !
Where is Queens Civic Congress? Where is Tony Avella? As a matter of fact, where is any Queens politician? Where is the Queens press? Where is the Borough President? Where is the community board?
fail fail fail fail fail
(you see, once you get started on this kick, its a bit like Flushing, a world of possibilities)
