Large collection of historical records to be better preserved

From NBC:

Long buried inside the granite of Surrogate Court, what was ancient history to New York is alive again. Geog Huth and Joe Van Nostrand aren't merely history buffs -- they're history's keepers. Their task now is to dust off New York's old court records and deliver them to a larger, safe space. John Chandler reports.

Would that be said of the Queens Historical Society.
They have, on numerous occasions, not been able to find requested material in their archives , when several academic researchers visited the society.

How about the Queens Library - their problems are found not in the collections (well there is the big questions around, for example, stuff like the Jacob Titus Bowne Collection but let's not go there) but their issues seem to be more off collection and on balance sheet, if you catch our drift.

A simple way to rewrite history, "lose the original records"...

The historical records of Queens is a disgrace, and the administration in boro hall is only interested in the past 50 years of immigrant history - another example that the Democratic Party in Queens has no interest besides trolling for support and votes.

Ah, yes... the Jacob Titus Bowne collection was said to have "taken a walk" from the venerable Bowne House whilst under the auspices of an earlier executive director.....D.R. Hmmmmm!
What is Rosemary Vitor's view on this?
