Costly steaks

From the Daily News:

The city Conflicts of Interest Board announced Monday that two NYPD chiefs and a retired chief have each paid a $1,500 fine for glomming pricey restaurant dinners courtesy of then-Queens Library boss Thomas Galante's expense account.

Just-promoted Chief of Personnel Diana Pizzuti admitted that she accepted "gifts in the form of meals" at Christo's Steakhouse ($151 per-person), San Pietro ($124-per-person), and Quality Meats ($145 per-person). Galante also picked up the tab at Quality Meats on W. 58th St. for Pizzuti's husband, Robert Iovino, who was celebrating his 55th birthday.

Housing Police Chief James Secreto, and retired Transportation Chief James Tuller, were cited for dining out at Wolfgang's Steakhouse ($154 per person), Christo's Steakhouse, Quality Meats and San Pietro when they were borough commanders in Queens.

Mamma mia!
That's a long way from free coffee and donuts for cops on the beat.
Extortion is extortion and bribery is bribery, subtle or blatant.
My old Bronx neighbor, an old time Irish cop, once told my father....
"It all starts with a free cup of coffee offered to me. That's why I pay for my own".
In loving memory of Officer Mulddoon.

NYPD graft and cronyism continue unabated. It's a goddamn disgrace. This woman should be demoted or even charged for indulging herself. But Bratton and Kelly have been getting away with this high end dining and politico, plutocrat and celebrity hobnobbing for decades.

It may be a bit cosmic but somehow there has to be a way to bring up criminal charges against trash like Galante for the continuation of this crass behavior. But you can't lock up someone because his presence is still felt and still influences corruption in office.

It looks like Galante, as with those 2 scumbag developers involved in the Big Slow's pay to play shit, got to determine who should be in the top tiers of the NYPD also.

LMFAO these people are top tier low lives and unrivalved hypocrites.

The fines are just for their dinners from Galante. Does anyone really believe those are the only freebies they took? I hear Pizzuti and Secreto were regulars at many spots in Queens dining and drinking on other people's dime.

What else? Good question.

Why would NYPD chiefs be dining on the tab of the Queens library expense account? What possible justification is there for that?

Now, what difference does it make how many free meals these enablers receive, when the corrupt system itself keeps rewarding their monstrous greed and graft?

As long as there are hyper-corrupt, politically installed hustlers at the top, then there will ALWAYS be plenty of hopeful, would be (and lined up!) takers at the bottom of the money trail hierarchy.

Tt serves no useful purpose, then to keep reporting online these egregious, systemic and condoned actions that betray public trust, when the powers that be (like the 'Dope From Park Slope,' and 'Mario's protected gubernatorial son' have been on the take since day one (and beyond)!

"A fish always stinks from the head," is what my grandfather always said (and he still does)!

Note that Pizzuti was "Just-promoted", of course because her lifetime of service, bullshit, bullshit, I want to throw up.......

Lets take a look at cronyism on the library board. There is a reason that some of those semi-literates took an interest in books.

Look it up under C for Capital Construction Accounts.

Another promotion for a token woman officer?

Put the cost of these dinners in perspective. A single adult on food stamps receives $194 per month expected to pay for all their groceries for 30 days.
Look at all the people going to soup kitchens and using food pantries.

What else is Thomas Galante mixed up with? Are they pressing criminal charges on him?

Galante is the tip of the iceberg. The board is the whos who of the social, political, and (if you can call it) cultural elite of the boro.

Stop being tone deaf. Galante is the tip of the iceberg and the fall guy. Look into their affairs and you hit the mother load. They hired him and he simply fit into the culture that they created.

Take a look at their backgrounds. How many have even the slightest hint of scholarship, education and just about anything that one seem natural to be running an organization like that.

Compare the Queens board with the board on the NYPL to see what we mean.

There was a reason that ex-library trustee George Stamatides was silenced and removed from community board one. Did he threaten to spill the beans? Inquiring minds want to know.

IF THEY BOARD DID NO WRONG DOING WHY WHERE THEY REMOVED FROM THE BOARD?
